REFLECTIONS PERSONAL LIFE LONG LEARNING PLAN

Learning is a continuous process. We learn something new on our

daily life activities. But having a plan is different story because a person will
be guided on what activities to undertake if he has a plan.

As I am making this plan, I realized that I can do more to enhance my

knowledge, skills and abilities as a teacher and worthy be called 21 st
Century Teacher. Most of the activities that I wrote were simple and doable
that can be accomplished given enough resources and time together with
proper attitude and values. Now, I started to comprehend that I should have
started these activities long before. Nevertheless, it is not yet too late for
me as long as I have a determination and right outlook I can have the
knowledge, skills, attitudes and values needed in the 21 st Century.

As I see it, the barriers in my plan were just simple obstacles wherein
given the right attitude and exerting extra effort, it can be overcome. Most
of it was lack of time and poor internet connectivity. Well, such problem can
be easily addressed by proper time management and having priorities.
Teachers are having a luxury of time because of Christmas Break and
Summer Vacation. On the other hand, having poor internet connectivity is
not a problem anymore; most of the internet providers are upgrading their
facilities to provide better service.

In all, I realized that it is within the personality and will power of the
teacher that can make difference. If a teacher wants to enhance his skills
and abilities, it just within his reach, all he has to do is to go an extra mile,
identify strength and opportunities, plan and work it out. After all, Nelson
Mandela said and I quote, Education is the powerful weapon that can
change the world. Through teaching in the 21 st century way I can lead this
world to better tomorrows.
