Pray for the church in Chinandega, Nicaragua. Specifically
pray for the pastors and their teaching. Pray that the word
is proclaimed boldly and that the church is strengthened
because of the teaching and that many are converted for
Christ. Pray that their teaching of the Word penetrates the
hearts of those who hear so that hearts are changed to
be more like Christ. Pray that hearts would be humble to
receive what is taught and that it is applied to their lives.

Student Ministries
Registration isOPEN for High School Summer Camp and will

 Monday
Yesterdays passage brought up two eternally important
items to ponder. First, as a Christian, Christ wants you to
understand that you are clean. Pray and ask the Holy Spirit
to give the assurance of salvation based on the testimony
of His Word. Second, we should understand that the Bible
calls us to examine ourselves regularly to see if Christ is
in us (2 Cor 13:5). If you are not sure of where you stand
with Christ, the elders of Canyon Prescott would love to
meet with you and to pray with you about this matter.
Tuesday
Teachers were important in the early church and they are
important today. Teaching the word is a means of grace,
it is a gift of grace (Romans 12:7) given by the Lord for the
building up of the church (Ephesians 4:11). Not many of you
should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we
who teach will be judged with greater strictness, (James 3:1).
With the greater responsibility of teaching comes the greater
expectations from God. Those who teach will be judged with
greater strictness because they are accountable for more.
Pray for those who teach the word. Pray for our elders and
their diligent study of the Word. Pray for the elders as the Lord
uses them to faithfully proclaim Scripture.
Wednesday
One reason God wrote the Bible is so that we could be
taught (2 Tim 3:16). Jesus mission for every Christian is
to teach and to be taught (Matt 28:19-20). In Colossians
3:16, every believer is called to be taught by one another.
In short, every Christian is called by God to be a student,
learning from many others. Humble receptivity is to
characterize every one of us. God intends for you to
grow by listening with open ears to other believers. What
place do you have in your life to learn from others? What
kind of heart-attitude have you developed in regard to
receiving instruction from other believers? While our lips
will seek to take precedence over our ears, we must
intentionally cultivate silence of lip and readiness of ear
toward the teaching of others.
Thursday
In Psalm 119 the writer declares, My soul is consumed
with longing for your rules at all times (v. 20), and again,
Your testimonies are my delight; they are my counselors
(v. 24). Here we see this timeless truth: Gods people love
Gods Word. We always have and we always will. Yet, as
we walk through this life, we also face the present reality
of our sin.
Now read James 1:19-21. As we think about the teaching
of the Word, whether through preaching or personal Bible
reading, this passage tells us that our sin can hinder that
means of grace that God has given to us for our growth.
Take some time to ask God to search your heart and
reveal any sin in your life that hinders your Bible intake
(Psalm 139:23-24), and then confess that to Him. Also, ask
the Lord to make you a person who is meek and able to
receive the implanted word.
