OBSERVING ETHICS IN A WORKPLACE 2
Ethics refers to an individuals ability to tell what is good or bad which will affect
what they do or behave. They are the morals one believes in according to the law, religious
believes or what a society says. Other than using their skills in the workplace, employees will
need to use such ethical issues to ensure peaceful co existence as well as long term
productivity. Proper ethical behaviors ensures smooth managerial leadership as well as good
Some of the values that lead to observation of ethical behaviors include having self
control. This is the ability to make right decisions that will benefit the institution by goodwill
by avoiding being self-centered and acting with temperance. Being just and offering fair
guidance on certain issues also ensures ethical behavior. It involves giving all individuals
equal treatment irrespective of gender, age or tribe. One needs to have courage and integrity
Love and kindness also encourages ethical behaviors. Leaders/managers have the sole
role of ensuring individuals maintain ethical behaviors. It can be by making right choices on
who joins the organization. Employing people based on their skills is normal but it is also
advisable to choose people of good morals to. Institutional orientations in order to enhance
follow ups are part of the values that would ensure ethical behaviors. In addition to these
values, an institution needs to have a code of conduct which clearly will outline the behavior
