TRAINING MODULE:

PICKING UP
UNCOVER
PARTICIPANT GUIDE

1/6

LAST UPDATED: 12/01/15

MODULE 1. PICKING UP
UNCOVER
In this module you will
Gain familiarity with the Uncover program
Practice using the Uncover Gospel and See For Yourself
questions
Start considering how to use Uncover themselves.

Introducing Uncover

Christianity is about relationships. God loves us and enables us to

love him back. Gods love for us also enables us to love others (Luke
10:27, 1 John 4:7-12).

A key consequence of loving and being loved like this is that we

want those around us to know and love the God who has changed
our lives. To know this God, they need to hear the gospel of Jesus.

Uncover is an exciting resource designed to help us introduce the

people around us to Jesus.

Uncover is about helping people see for themselves who Jesus is

from Lukes Gospel so that they can respond to him.

Introducing the Uncover training

This training is about equipping you to make the most of Uncover on

your campus.

God willing, it will help you develop confidence in God and your
ability to invite your friends to uncover the real Jesus as you read
Lukes gospel together.

The 6 training modules address the following questions:

1. What is Uncover?
2. Why read the Bible in evangelism?
3. Has God designed me for evangelism?
4. Is Uncover just about Bible reading or do quality relationships fit
as well?
5. What response should I expect from people?
6. What about their questions and hesitations?
1
MODULE 1. PICKING UP
UNCOVER
Each module is a combination of:
Story-telling. Look at what God is doing in our midst.
Theology. See how the Bible shapes our understanding of
evangelism.
Ministry skills. Learn general evangelism skills.
Reading Uncover. Practice reading Luke using Uncover
passages.
Prayer. Entrust ourselves and others to our God.

But lets not just talk about Uncover. Lets look at it!

First Impressions - Uncover Gospels

First impressions arent everything, but they do count for something.

What are your first impressions of the Uncover Gospel?

What is it about the Uncover layout of Lukes gospel that makes it

easy to read with someone?

Who is the first person you think of when considering who you could
invite to read Uncover with you? Write down their name.

Do any ideas come to mind about how you invite them to read it with
you?

2
MODULE 1. PICKING UP
UNCOVER
How do you think youll respond if they say Yes? What about if they
say No?

Using Uncover
Read Luke 5:17-26. Having read the passage with someone,
what would you do next?

See For Yourself questions

One of the daunting things about reading the Bible is entering what
seems to be a different world.

It was so long ago. We meet unfamiliar people in unfamiliar

situations. Unusual and unexpected things happen. It is very
tempting to approach the Bible as though it were from a different
world.

There are some questions which have been developed to go with

Uncover.

These questions are designed to give you confidence that you can
begin to uncover the truth about Jesus for yourselves. We want
people to be confident that Lukes Gospel is not something which
needs a guru or specialist to explain.

You can find them when you scan a QR code or type in the link on
any of the Evidence labels in the Uncover Gospels. But they are
designed to be easily remembered and are worth remembering
even if you only use them a reference point.

You can use them on nearly every passage in Luke.

The questions will need some introduction with your Uncover reading
partner. Heres one example to get you started on the questions after
reading the passage:

3
MODULE 1. PICKING UP
UNCOVER
Here are the See For Yourself questions. You can also find them on
the Uncover website:

Retell: Are there parts I find unclear or confusing as I retell the

narrative?
React: How are different people reacting to Jesus here?
Reveal: What is revealed about Jesus, through words and
actions?
Reason: What reason do I think Luke had for including this
event?
Respond: How will I respond to what this narrative uncovers
about Jesus?

Road-testing the questions

Answer each of these questions from Luke 5:17-26

4
MODULE 1. PICKING UP
UNCOVER
Reflecting on the questions

At one level, theres nothing special or magical about these

questions. But they are not just arbitrary or random either.

What are the reasons for using these questions?

1. They focus us on Jesus.

2. They challenge us to deal with the source documents about
Jesus, not just my or your opinion about Jesus.
3. They show us how (and how not) to respond to Jesus. The last
one prompts us to respond personally.
4. They model good Bible reading practice, which is essential for
life-long discipleship
5. They reveal Christian truth through the story of Jesus.

What if I cant answer a question?

The Uncover website (uncover.org.au)

This website contains some videos and material that will help you dig
deeper into the Uncover passages and some of the questions they
might raise. Have a look at the Uncover website.

Theres a lot to take in from todays introduction to Uncover.

Dont worry if it using Uncover felt a bit clunky and uncomfortable.

In future sessions well be doing heaps of learning, praying and
practicing!
Maybe you could spend some time this week familiarising yourself
with the Uncover Gospels, questions and website.

5
MODULE 1. PICKING UP
UNCOVER
Pray widely. Invite personally. Read expectantly.

In Luke, God is revealing his messagehis gospel. Its the message

about Jesusthat he is Lord. Lord of all people. Lord in everything.
Lord in every way. The Lord who saves.

So we should pray for ourselves and people as we introduce them to

the Lord Jesus.

At the heart of Uncover is our conviction that God himself will speak
through his word as we invite people to read it with us.

We dont need to be experts at evangelism and Bible reading. We

just need to be people who pray for those around us, invite people
to read Uncover with us, and expect God to work through his word
as he sees fit.

Thank God for revealing himself to us in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Pray for the person whose name you wrote down at the
beginning.
Pray about what you learned from today.

Luke 1:1-4
Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that
have been fulfilled among us, just as they were handed down to us
by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the
word. With this in mind, since I myself have carefully investigated
everything from the beginning, I too decided to write an orderly
account for you, most excellent Theophilus, so that you may know
the certainty of the things you have been taught

TRUSTING GOD
TO SPEAK
PARTICIPANT GUIDE

LAST UPDATED: 12/01/15

MODULE 2. TRUSTING GOD TO
SPEAK
In this module you will

Consider the role of Gods word and Spirit in bringing

people to know and love Jesus.
Reflect on how this knowledge shapes our evangelistic
efforts, in particular Uncover.
Pray that God speak to people through his word and
Spirit.

Ministry moments

What has struck you about Uncover so far?

Introduction

Imagine you are sitting in your Christian Union meeting with

a group of students who have got together to plan a mission
week for later in the year. Your student president begins by
reminding everyone that our goal is to tell people about Jesus
so that people may become Christians. He then asks the
group for ideas about how to do this.

Kieran immediately pipes up and says, I think we should

organise a basketball competition so we can get to know
1 people, because having a relationship with someone, sharing
MODULE 2. TRUSTING GOD TO
SPEAK
your life, is what really matters in evangelism.

In response Mary jumps up and says, No way. I disagree. No

one will ever become a Christian simply through a relation-
ship, people need the Bible. I have a friend at the Gideons
who can give us lots of Bibles for free. Lets just give out as
many Bibles as we can on campus for our mission.

What you think about these two different approaches?

This discussion raises questions about how God brings peo-

ple to know and love him: What part does God play? What
part does the Bible play? What part do we play?

You might have noticed that Uncover assumes that God

speaks through his word and Spirit, but that he usually does
so in the context of relationships between people. In Uncover
we personally invite people to read the Bible with us.

In todays module we think through what it means that God

speaks through his word. In the next module well look at how
God usually does this through people like you and me speak-
ing with the people around us.
2
MODULE 2. TRUSTING GOD TO
SPEAK
From the Bible

Look up Luke 24:36-49. How does God enable the

disciples to understand and respond to Jesus?

What role do the Scriptures in particular play in the disciples

coming to understand Jesus?

The same thing has been true ever since. People become
Christian by understanding Jesus from the Scriptures and
respond to him as God enables them to.

Brainstorm: What are the implications of this for our

evangelism?

In summary, two things are needed for someone to believe

God and the gospel (the Bibles message about Jesus). So
the right response for us is to pray and proclaim this gospel!

3 To Our Lives
MODULE 2. TRUSTING GOD TO
SPEAK

Uncover aims to help us do both of these things. We want

to read the Gospel of Luke with people and at the same time
ask God to open up hearts and minds by his Holy Spirit that
they might be receptive to the gospel and believe.

How can Uncover help us do this?

Practice Using Uncover

Read Luke 7:36-50 using the See For Yourself questions.

During the week find a Christian friend who is willing to

read part of Lukes Gospel with you. Make a time with
them, read through the additional resource on Preparing
For The First Meeting, and then meet. Come back next
week and share how it went.

Pray widely. Invite personally. Read expectantly. 4

MODULE 2. TRUSTING GOD TO
SPEAK

Last module we asked you to pray widely, invite personally

and read expectantly. Given what we have discussed today,
what does it mean to read Lukes gospel expectantly?

Pray for the person whose name you wrote down time and
any others God brings to mind. Ask God to:
Open up their heart so that they want to read the bible and
find out more about Jesus.
Give you the opportunity to read Uncover with them.

Pray about what you learned from today:

Thank God that God enabled you to repent and believe
the gospel of Jesus.
Ask God to give you confidence that God speaks through
his word and Spirit.
Pray though any doubts or questions you have about the
things we have discussed today.

Challenge: Read through Luke in one sitting. Make a

5 note of what God is teaching us about Jesus as you read

Luke.

MODULE 3. PERSONAL
EVANGELISM
In this module you will
Develop confidence that God speaks through us.
Identify some of your unique, God given opportunities via
your relational networks.
Plan to invite specific people to read an Uncover gospel
with you.

Stories
Share any stories you have about inviting people to
uncover Jesus with you. If you havent managed to get
that far, share a moment where you got to speak about
Jesus this week.

Introduction

In this module we are exploring our personal role in bringing

the gospel message to others.

Reflect for a moment on how you became a Christian.

Whether your conversion was ordinary or extraordinary, the
gospel message itself must be passed on from one individual
to another. This passing on began with the earliest followers
of Jesus and from one to another to another until it got to
you!

For most of us the news of Jesus as our Lord and Saviour

came through peoplewhether a parent, sibling, friend,
pastor, stranger, youth group leader, teacher, or university
classmate.

1
MODULE 3. PERSONAL
EVANGELISM
From the Bible

Do you tend to see evangelism as a privilege or a

responsibility? What impact does this way of thinking about it
have on you?

Read Matthew 28:16-20a foundational passage that

reminds us how Jesus expected his message to go out
to the world.

How does Jesus expect the message about him to be

shared?

On the basis of this passage, how do you think the first

disciples would have seen the task of evangelism and making
disciplesas a privilege or a responsibility?

There are all sorts of factors that can motivate our

evangelism. Some good. Some not so good. But the fact that
God not only saves us and makes us his disciples but also
chooses to use us in bringing people to Jesus is yet another
example of his grace towards us!

2
MODULE 3. PERSONAL
EVANGELISM

To Our Lives

Think about your regular week. Make a list of the people

you have contact with (especially at university). Are these
relationships one-off, regular, or long-term?

As we view people through Gods eyes, our hope is that

Jesus would save every person. But this doesnt occur
magically. Instead, the message of Jesus is passed from
person to person.

For this to happen there must be some form of relationship,

followed by an invitation to hear the gospel message, and
having heard, the call to trust and follow Jesus.

RELATIONSHIP > INVITATION > GOSPEL

MESSAGE > CONVERSION

As you look at the list of people youve made, ask yourself Is

my list broad enough?

Am I praying for easy people who I think might be 85% of

the way towards believing, or have Christian ethics or who I
really like or .....
3
MODULE 3. PERSONAL
EVANGELISM
Heres some ideas to broaden your list.
Invite your classmates
Invite someone in your tutorial class
Invite someone in your course who youve never spoken to
Invite someone you dont necessarily like
Invite someone who is not like you
Invite someone who you sit next to regularly
Invite someone you chat to in the coffee line
Invite an old school friend who you see around university
Invite someone who comes to a Bible talk
Invite someone who has been attending a Bible study
group
Invite someone who has visited your AFES group in the
past and you see around university occasionally
Invite someone youve previously invited to a Bible talk

If you havent already, this week is the time to start inviting

people to uncover the real Jesus with you by reading Lukes
biography of Jesus. It is tempting to tell ourselves we are
waiting for the right time. But often we are just wasting time.
Lets be honest, it is sometimes just stalling!

Share with one another the names of the people you

hope to invite to uncover who Jesus is with you this
week.

Choose one of those names and role-play inviting them with a

partner. Pray for each other!

4
MODULE 3. PERSONAL
EVANGELISM
Practice using Uncover

Read Luke 12:13-21 using the See For Yourself

questions.

Can you remember the questions without looking them up?

Can you think of any different ways of framing them (or

expanding them) for this particular passage?

It is always useful to have some options up your sleeve so

that if conversation dies you have some where to go! But
remember, keep going back to the passage to answer them.
Rampant speculation is not OK.

5
MODULE 3. PERSONAL
EVANGELISM

Pray widely. Invite personally. Read expectantly.

Over the Uncover training course weve asked you to pray

widely, invite personally and read expectantly.

Today we have explored the web of relationships that God

places each of us infrom one-off to short-term to long-term.
So take some time now to pray more widely, especially for
people you had not thought of prior to today. Ask God to help
you invite these people read Lukes Gospel with you.

Luke 8:38-39 (NIV)

The man from whom the demons had gone out begged
to go with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying, Return
home and tell how much God has done for you. So the
man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had
done for him.

gospel.
Learn how to develop a friendship beyond the superficial.
Begin developing the story of your walk with Jesus.
Consider how to tailor reading Lukes Gospel with your
friend.

Stories

Uncover with.

Introduction

In your own words, describe what makes Jesus worth

knowing.

1
MODULE 4. DEVELOPING
RELATIONSHIPS
From the Bible
Knowing Jesus changes us and our lives for the better. He
is worth knowing. We want people around us to see the
difference Jesus makes and to experience that difference for
themselves by coming to know and love Jesus.

Read John 13:34-35.

What impact does Jesus expect his disciples lives to make

on others? How?

What enables Christians and Christian community to function

like this?

How does this passage motivate us want to see people

become Christian?

2
MODULE 4. DEVELOPING
RELATIONSHIPS
To our lives

Helping your friends see the difference Jesus makes requires

good personal relationships. You need to get to know them
and their community and they need to get to know you and
Christian community.

How can you help the friends you are reading Uncover with
see the difference following Jesus makes?

The additional resources for this module can help you think
through these things in more detail:

1. From the public to the personal.

Close relationships provide great gospel opportunities.

People dont just see our public face, they also see into our
private and personal lives. They see the real joy that only
Jesus brings. They see the pain that only jesus can heal.

Likewise, we see their anxieties that only Jesus can relieve.

Their thirst for joy that only Jesus can satisfy.

This resource will help you make your conversations more

personal.

2. Sharing your story.

As you meet with and get to know someone, you will have
opportunities to speak to them about things from the private
sphere.

It is very helpful to be able to clearly and simply explain your

3 story of the difference that following Jesus has made in your
MODULE 4. DEVELOPING
RELATIONSHIPS
life (some people call this a testimony).

This resource will help you express how Jesus has changed
your life.

3. Pathways through Uncover

Uncover allows you choose the route you take through Luke.

Jesus has many different encounters with people in

the gospels. Are there any people or situations that will
particularly resonate with your friend?

This resource will help you work out what Uncover passages
to read.

Reading Uncover

Read Luke 15:1-3 & 11-24 using the See For Yourself
questions. Today, think about how to land the passage in
your own experience of Jesus and the world.

As you read this passage, identify what part of the narrative

if anyconnects with your own story of coming to faith or
growing as a Christian. Have a go at explaining to someone
else what this connection is or how you have been impacted
by what is in this passage.

(Warning: not all passages will connect directly with your

experience of Jesus. If there is no natural or obvious
connection then it shouldnt be forced.)

4
MODULE 4. DEVELOPING
RELATIONSHIPS
Also think about how to land the passage in your friends
experience and circumstances. Dont let it be a story Jesus
told that is of only academic interest. Show how it describes
you or them or the world. (Again, not all passages will
connect directly.)

5
MODULE 4. DEVELOPING
RELATIONSHIPS
Pray widely. Invite personally. Read expectantly.

Pray for the people youre reading Uncover with.

Pray for insight about what stops them putting their faith
and trust in Jesus.
Pray for wisdom on what parts of Luke to read with them.
Thank God for his work in you life.

MODULE 5. RESPONDING TO
QUESTIONS
In this module you will
Discover that a variety of responses to Jesus and his
messengers is normal.
Learn to trust God with peoples responses as you invite
them to read Uncover with you.
Workshop responding to some questions and hesitations
that may arise as you read Uncover with someone.

Stories

What are you learning or being encouraged by from Uncover?

(E.g., from the training or from reading Luke or from inviting
someone to uncover who Jesus is by reading Luke with you.)

Introduction

In this section we will exploring the responses we should

expect when we share the news of Jesus.

On a scale of 1 to 10, what response are you expecting when

you ask someone to read Uncover you? (1 = instant and
spectacular conversion and 10 = life-threatening hostility and
rejection)

Why do you expect that?

1
MODULE 5. RESPONDING TO
QUESTIONS
If inviting people to Uncover Jesus is the first time you have
tried sharing your Christianity, then you might be struck by
a horrible predicament: Im going to invite a friend to read
Lukes biography of Jesus with me but Im not sure which is
more frightening; if they say No, or if they say Yes!

From the Bible

Lets take a moment to explore what God says about how

we can expect different people to respond to the message of
Jesus. Thankfully Jesus led a seminar on just this topic!

Read Luke 8:4-15.

What do each of the four soils in the parable represent? How

might these look as we read Uncover with fellow university
students? Write or draw this in the boxes below.

How does this parable lead us to expect people will respond

to the message of Jesus?

2
MODULE 5. RESPONDING TO
QUESTIONS
To Our Lives

Proclaiming Jesus will have varied results in both the long

and short term. Some people become followers of Jesus
quickly and easily. For others it takes a long period of time
with lots of ups and downs. For others, short-term rejection is
the pathway to a long-term seeking of Jesus. Other times, a
strong initial positive response fades into disinterest.

Underlying each of these responses will be a series of

questions or doubts about Jesus and whether following him
is worth it. Questions and doubts can arise at any stage of a
persons journey towards, or even with, Jesus. They may be
acknowledged and articulated, or they my hidden.

Look back at the different responses. What doubts or

questions about Jesus might be sitting behind these
responses?

Think about a friend you are, or want to, read Uncover

with. What are their questions or doubts? (Maybe
some of them have come up as you have been reading
Uncover.)

3
MODULE 5. RESPONDING TO
QUESTIONS
Choose one issue and briefly discuss together how you
might start to respond to it.

Answering questions does not need to be scary!

You do not need to have a PhD in Theology, or to have read

and memorised all the apologetics textbooks. You just need
know Jesus and be thinking through the implications of the
gospel for you personally. And you need to be praying and
ask God to speak.

There are lots of great resources out there to help you as you
wrestle with the questions and hesitations that arise as you
read Uncover. The Uncover website has a whole sequence of
video presentations from students speaking about some of
themjust visit uncover.org.au/questions.

Also, remember that saying, Thats a really good question; Ill

need some time to think a bit more about that, and get back
to you, is OK.

It shows you dont think you have all the answers worked out
and that you too are on a journey of discovery as you come
to know and understand the Bible more. These questions
might even be the means God uses to draw you and your
friend closer to him!

4
MODULE 5. RESPONDING TO
QUESTIONS
Reading Uncover

Read Luke 23:32-49 using the See For Yourself questions.

What questions or hesitations could this passage help to

address?

5
MODULE 5. RESPONDING TO
QUESTIONS
Pray widely. Invite personally. Read expectantly.

Jesus teaching about the four kinds of soil reminds us

that we dont know how each individual will respond to the
word of God. We dont know where we are in the process
of people becoming and maturing as a Christians. We dont
know how they will respond to us.

How does this help us to pray widely, invite personally and

read expectantly?

Colossians 4.2-6 (NIV)

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.
And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our
message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ,
for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly,
as I should. Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders;
make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation
be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may
know how to answer everyone.

LEADING SOMEONE
TO CHRIST
PARTICIPANT GUIDE

LAST UPDATED: 12/01/15

MODULE 6. LEADING SOMEONE
TO CHRIST
In this module you will
Consider the different responses people have always made
to Jesus.
Understand what confidence we can have to lead/call
people to faith in Christ.
Workshop helpful ways you could respond to the different
conclusions about Jesus your friend might arrive at after
reading Uncover with you.

Stories

Share with one another any stories you have about inviting
people to Uncover who Jesus is with you. Or if you have
already started reading Luke with some friends, share how
this is going.

Pray for each other, especially if you are finding it difficult to

find someone willing to do Uncover.

Introduction

Have you known someone before and after they became a

Christian? What caused them to turn from their sins, trust
Jesus and take up the new life he offers?

God-willing, some of the people we read Lukes Gospel with

will respond to Jesusturning from their sin, trusting him
for salvation and taking up their cross to follow him.

The Bible overwhelmingly speaks about conversion as Gods

action, not ours (Romans 8:29-30, Ephesians 1:3-14 and
1 Peter 1:3-5). People become Christian through the work
of God the Holy Spirit.
1
MODULE 6. LEADING SOMEONE
TO CHRIST
But the Spirit usually graciously employs our praying, relating
and proclaiming of Jesus as the means of drawing people
to Jesus (see, e.g., Romans 11:14-15). So lets look at
how to lead someone to Christ.

From the Bible

Read Acts 2:37-39.

What do you notice about peoples response?

What does Peter tell them to do?

What are the consequences of doing this?

Who actually enables a person to respond to Jesus?

The gospel of Jesus demands a response. Jesus wasnt

embarrassed about calling people to follow him. His first
disciples werent embarrassed about calling people to
follow him. And we shouldnt be embarrassed either.

In fact, we can be confident. Here are 4 bedrock convictions

that underpin our confidence:

1. We can have confidence that as we read and discuss Luke

with our friends that God will be speaking to them through
His word (see 2 Timothy 3:15-17).

2. We can be assured that Gods word will accomplish what

he sends it to do (see Isaiah 55:10-11). 2
MODULE 6. LEADING SOMEONE
TO CHRIST
3. We can trust Gods timing and not feel like we need to
press for a decision as if we somehow have to make it
happen (see Acts 13:48).

4. We can be bold in calling people to turn from sin and

trust in Jesus, knowing we dont need to have a special
technique to make it work (see Acts 20:20-21).

To Our Lives

One way we can act on this confidence is by asking the

people we are reading Uncover with questions about
Jesus and whether they want to follow him.

Asking such questions might actually help them work out

whether they are ready to become a Christian. It is also not
impossible that you might discover that they have already
become a Christian.

When is a good time to ask someone whether they want to

follow Jesus?

What questions could you ask them about Jesus?

This will give you an opportunity to answer questions, clarify

any misunderstandings and fill in some gaps. You could do
this using the stories you have read in Luke or a gospel
outline that you know. Listen hard for any potential
misunderstanding of grace.

They dont need to be able to articulate the AFES doctrinal

statement to become Christian. They just need to know
enough to trust Jesus and have some idea of what
following him involves.
3
MODULE 6. LEADING SOMEONE
TO CHRIST
What questions could you ask them about following Jesus?

This will give you an opportunity to make clear what

discipleship involves. Use the stories in Luke or share your
own experiences of discipleship. Jesus wants people to
make an informed decision.

If your friend is weighing up the benefits and costs of

following Jesus, asking them to draw up a list of the pros
and cons will give you something concrete to discuss.
You could even ask: What are the consequences of not
following Jesus?

If their answers reveal the need for more thought, you now
have a good idea of where to focus your discussions with
them next. Is there a book they could read or a person
they could meet who would help them move forward?

You might even want to tell them how they can become a
Christian so that if at some point they decide to, they dont
need to wait until their next conversation with you!

One quick and memorable way of describing what a person

needs to do to become a Christian is:

Turn: Away from sin, self-dependence and idolatry by

confessing your sin and asking for forgiveness.

Trust: That Jesus died in your place to forgive you for your
sin. That Jesus rose from the dead and shares his new
life with you, enabling you to love and worship God your
Father.

Take up your cross and follow Jesus: Ask God for his Spirit
to help you follow Jesus and live in joyful dependence on
and obedience to God.
4
MODULE 6. LEADING SOMEONE
TO CHRIST

Youll see each of these aspects in the prayer at the end of

the Uncover Gospel.

If your friend wants to follow Jesus:

Explain to them the process of Trust, Turn and Take.

Read them the prayer and encourage them to pray it.
Thank God and pray for them.
Assure them that they are now a child of God. Forgiven by
Jesus. Indwelt by his Spirit. It is really that easy!
Discuss with them What next?

Now that your friend has become a Christian, how are you
going to follow them up?

Reading Uncover

Re-read Luke 24:36-49.

Focusing on the Response question: practice leading each

other to Christ from this passage. Make sure you both
have a turn at asking Do you want to follow Jesus? and
following up a Yes response with questions, description
5 of how to become a Christian, prayer and what next.
MODULE 6. LEADING SOMEONE
TO CHRIST

What follow-up questions would you want to ask if your friend

said to you: I realise that Jesus is my only hope, and I
want to entrust my life to him?

What about if they told you: I have learned a lot about Jesus.
Im not really ready to put my trust in him, but Id like to
keep exploring?

Finally, how do you think you could helpfully respond if they

said: This has been interesting, but I honestly dont think
