1. ORGANIZATION:

This Chapter will be known American Legion Riders Post 24 (ALR 24) Tombstone AZ.

2. BYLAWS

ALR 24 shall be guided by Bylaws adopted by a majority vote of members present at a


meeting with a quorum.

2.1.1. Chapter Bylaws shall not be in any conflict with the National Constitution and
Bylaws of the American Legion.

2.1.2. Chapter Bylaws shall only be amended by a majority vote of members present
at a meeting with a quorum.

2.1.3. Any modifications to Chapter Bylaws must be submitted for and approved by
the American Legion Post 24 General Membership prior to being implemented by
ALR 24.

3. MEMBERSHIP:

ALR 24 Chapter members will at no time conduct themselves in a manner that would
bring discredit or dishonor to ALR 24 or the members Parent Organization. Failure to
comply with this requirement shall result in adverse action up to and including expulsion
as an ALR 24 member.

3.1. Requirements to join the ALR 24:

3.1.1. All applicants for ALR 24 membership must be a current member in good
standing of the American Legion, Auxiliary, or Sons of the American Legion.

3.1.2. Applicants must own a motorcycle capable of maintaining highway speeds for
distances of at least 100 miles. The motorcycle must be street legal, no ATV's.

4. EXPULSION AND SUSPENSION:

Any member may be expelled or suspended from the Chapter by a majority vote of the
General Membership at a regular Chapter meeting.

4.1. Expulsion is permanent dismissal from membership in ALR 24. The expelled persons
name shall be removed from the membership roster.

4.2. Suspension is temporary restriction from participation in ALR 24 activities. A


suspended member may not wear ALR apparel and voting privileges shall be
suspended.

4.3. Charter members shall only be expelled or suspended by a unanimous vote of all
Chapter officers. Charter members are identified as members #1 through #15 of the
official membership roster as maintained by the Adjutant.

5. OFFICERS AND DUTIES

5.1. President: Shall serve as Chief Administrative Officer of the Association and will
preside over all Chapter meetings. He shall have general supervision over the affairs
of the Chapter. He shall perform such other duties as necessary for coordination of
the Chapter.

5.2. Vice President: Shall assume the duties of the President in his absence. Shall
assist the President in the performance of his duties when called on to do so by the
President.

5.3. Secretary: Shall keep a full and correct record of all proceeding at the Chapter
meetings. Keep membership records as may be required by the general
membership.

5.4. Treasurer: Shall have charge of all finances of the Association. Shall have charge of
disbursing funds as directed by the general membership. Shall give detailed financial
reports at each regular Chapter meetings.

5.5. Sergeant At Arms: Shall preserve order at Chapter meetings and gatherings, assist
the Road Captain in enforcing all rules of safe riding during rides and runs; and
perform such other duties or chair such committees as may be from time to time
assigned by the President or Chapter Executive Committee.

5.6. Other officers shall be added as necessary.

6. ELECTIONS

Election of Chapter officers will be held annually, with nominations in March and elections in
April. New officers will assume duties of their elected positions during the May meeting.

7. CHAPTER MEETINGS:

Regular Chapter meetings will be held at a date, time and place as voted on by a majority
of members at any regular meeting. A quorum must be present to conduct official Chapter
business at Regular Chapter meetings. A quorum will consist of at least fifteen members
in good standing.

7.1. All Chapter meetings will be conducted under "Roberts Rules of Order".

7.2. All Chapter meetings will be conducted following the Chapter Bylaws.

7.3. Chapter Officer meetings will be held as may be required to conduct Chapter
business. A quorum must be present to conduct official Chapter business. Four
officers will constitute a quorum for Chapter Officer meetings.

7.3.1. Chapter Officer meetings shall only be conducted to discuss or resolve issues
or concerns that require immediate resolution which cannot be deferred to the
next regular Chapter meeting.

7.3.2. Any business conducted during a meeting of the Chapter Officers will be
reported to the General Membership at the next regular Chapter meeting.

8. CHAPTER FINANCES:

Finances of the Chapter will be from Chapter membership dues or such other sources as
approved by the membership.

8.1. Disbursement of Funds

8.1.1. ALR 24 shall be a non-profit organization and may only disburse funds in a
manner that is in keeping with all local, state and national laws regarding non-
profit organizations.

8.1.2. Disbursement of funds will be only those authorized at any regular meeting of
the Chapter.

8.1.3. Contingency funds up to the amount of $100 may be authorized with the
approval of the President or Treasurer and one other officer. Any disbursement of
funds under this rule must be reported to the General Membership at the next
General Membership meeting.

9. APPAREL:

9.1. Members attending Chapter meetings or events must wear the ALR back patch or
official ALR apparel that clearly displays the ALR logo or pay a $1.00 fine.

9.2. When wearing a vest that displays the ALR patch, the American flag shall be the
highest patch on the left side. This applies to the flag as a patch by itself; if it is only
part of a patch this rule does not apply.

9.2.1. Absolutely no "Property" patches shall be displayed on any apparel that also
displays the ALR patch.

9.2.2. Non-member (Supporter) apparel shall include the words "I Support".

10. ALR 24 SUPPORTERS:

Membership as an American Legion Rider, Post 24 Chapter Supporter is open to all


members of the Post 24 American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, and Sons of the
American Legion that do not meet the requirements of full ALR 24 membership.

10.1. Chapter Supporters shall not be eligible to vote nor to hold elected office.

10.2. Chapter Supporters will at no time conduct themselves in a manner that would
bring discredit or dishonor to the ALR 24 or the members Parent Organization.
Failure to comply with this requirement shall result in adverse action up to and
including expulsion as an ALR 24 Chapter Supporter.
