Reflections
Kimberly McAteer
Kimberly, I really enjoyed your presentation, as I believe that it highlighted your journey
in education. I still have two questions about you that were not mentioned in your presentation,
and this is about your hobbies and education/certifications, as these items are a strong factor in
helping to shape a persons identity. Your presentation helped me to see the many hats that I
wear as an educator, as I am a social worker, counselor, and many other roles on any given day.
The only items that I see that could use clarification would be about hobbies and
education/certifications, other than that, I believe that Kimberly has provided some great
information about herself and her journey in education. My interpretation of the artifacts is that
Kimberly is passionate about teaching and education and understands the diverse roles that a
belief that every student has the potential to be great. Another aspect in which Kimberly and I
are similar is with family, as family is very important to me as well. Kimberly and I differ in the
respect that she has more educational experience than me, as I am entering into my second year
as an educator. Another aspect that separates Kimberly and I is that, I have not had any children
go through or graduate high school. Overall, Kimberlys presentation provided good insights
and you were able to get your point across. I also enjoyed your usage of pictures and images, as
these helped to highlight your writing and presentation. The only question that I still have about
your presentation is what are your goals moving forward, do you plan on staying in education or
going into administration in the future? One of the ways in which your presentation made me
question myself is that I have not been outside of the United States and it appears that you have

traveled quite extensively outside of the United States. The only aspect that I saw that could be
clarified would be to add a new section about your future goals or ambitions.
While your artifacts allowed me to see many aspects of your life, I believe that adding
more information about your educational philosophy or teaching would be beneficial. I also
grew up in the Kansas City area, and I have many family members that are farmers, so your
experiences in agriculture hit close to home. One big difference between Julia and I is that she
has more experience teaching elementary students and I have experience working with high
school students. Overall, I really thought you did an excellent job on your presentation and
provided many great details and insights for the reader to get to know you better.
Rose Strousse
Rose, after viewing your identity presentation, I think that you did a great job in
presenting who you are. I really liked the descriptive words that you provided about yourself,
family, hobbies, and educational training, as the information allowed the reader to better
understand what motivates you. The only question that I still have after viewing your
presentation is what do you see yourself doing in five years? The part of your presentation that
allowed me to consider more about my identity was when you described yourself as a Vermonter,
this allowed me to see how my state has impacted my life. The only clarification that I would
recommend is to provide insights into your goals as an educator or in education, the other
information is descriptive enough to determine your identity. Based on the artifacts and
information that you provided, I believe that you are a very outgoing and organized person that is
able to accomplish your goals based on your drive and motivation. Like you, I am also driven
and motivated, in my goals and pursuit of higher education. I am also very organized, as I find
that it allows me to better manage my busy life and daily routine. Like you, I also enjoy fishing,
hunting, and outdoor activities, as these are a big part of live for many Kansans. I have a larger
extended family, which differs from your family; so my family gatherings are usually interesting.
I also do not live in an area that is considered to be rural, and this is another way in which you

and I differ. Overall, I thought that your presentation was well designed and the information
