CODE OF ETHICS

I. RATIONALE/REASONS

Ethics and values apply to our personal and professional lives. If you are able to
understand and implement values and ethics in everyday practices, you will encourage
ones success in personal and professional careers. There are people that view values as a
personal code, and see them as a personal testimony of their beliefs.

Our professional values and ethics come from many different sources. In our early
years, our parents and peers are instrumental in the development of our professional
values and ethics. As we enter the workforce we align with our employers core values.
Thus, ethics plays an important role in order for us to become a great employees and
citizens of the Philippines.

II. OBJECTIVES

1. To know what is ethics.

2. To know the importance of the code of ethics
3. To develop and enhance code of ethics to every individual especially for teachers.

III. REACTION PROPER:

The professional teachers ethics is a sum of moral codes of their professional

work. At the teaching profession it is important to respect few kinds of moral codes,
which are basically divided into the following groups: general moral codes of the
teaching profession, moral codes of conduct between teachers and students, with their
colleagues, and the other subjects they professionally cooperate with.

According to the many research results, it has been confirmed that keeping to the
moral codes of conduct between teachers and students is a base condition in creating
positive atmosphere in teaching and establishing a relation of partnership with the
students. It has been stated that the degree of their respect is not only in dependence with
the degree of students accomplishments, but in the stimulation of their development as
well.

IV. CONCLUSION

It is truly right that Code of Ethics serves as our basis in our daily lives most
especially in every action that we do. Before we act or do a certain action, we should
always consider its consequences. Every great action has good corresponding
consequences while misconduct has also consequences that will not just destroy our

 personality but most specially our careers. Therefore, we should always value our code of
ethics at all times not because it is our duty and responsibility but because it is the right
thing to do.

It is really important for us to value ethics as it symbolizes our identity and

personality as human being. It is not only a value that should be possessed but to be
carried out through our entire life. Most organization will have a vision statement that
identifies what values they believe are important according to a National Defense
University article (NDU, 2009).

V. RECOMMENDATION

Within this study regarding the code of ethics, we cannot deny the fact that there
are still some employees who forget their code of ethics in some situations. Most
especially in the teaching profession which is the main focus of this study and also the
most important field to adhere the code of ethics. So I can say that code of ethics should
be given more importance for every individual. One more thing is, in order to gain
respect; we should also learn to respect others. Code of ethics should be practiced at all
times and carried out through our entire life.
