Type of Sentences
Simple Sentence:
It has the most basic elements that make it a sentence: a subject, a verb.
Examples:
Compound Sentence:
Refers to a sentence made up of two independent clauses connected to one another with
a coordinating conjunction. (For, And, Nor, But, Or, Yet, So)
Examples:
1. Joe waited for the train, but the train was late.
2. The computer crashed, so I lost all of my work.
Complex Sentence:
A complex sentence is made from an independent clause and a dependent clause joined
together. We also can identify the complex sentences through subordinating conjunctions.
(as, because, although, while, if, still, till, after, before, when, once, etc.)
