WELLBLOCKS

SHARP Solutions supplies well blocks in a number of different

compositions to best suit the operating conditions of the steel ladle. Well
blocks are available in basic and alumina qualities to match the slag
basicity. Blocks are either pressed or pre-cast depending on the
composition. These shapes can be pre-fired if necessary to ensure optimum
performance. These pieces are custom-designed for a specific ladle with
attention to total life, free open performance and cost.

 UPPER NOZZLE

SHARP Solutions supplies nozzles in a number of different compositions to

best suit the operating conditions of the steel ladle. Nozzles are available in
alumina qualities (with and without carbon additions, Zirconia additions,
and/or chrome additions) to best resist the slag chemistry. Nozzles are either
pressed or pre-cast depending on the composition. These shapes can be pre-
fired if necessary to ensure optimum performance. These pieces are
custom-designed for a specific ladle with attention to total life, free open
performance and cost.

 SLIDE GATE MECHANISM

SHARP Solutions supplies metallic parts and complete assemblies for all of
the popular systems on the market. These pieces are CNC machined from
high-quality steel castings or steel billets depending on the part. Metallics
are machined to exacting tolerances while still offering substantial savings

 SLIDE GATE SUPPORT EQUIPMENT

In addition to the slide gate mechanisms, SHARP Solutions also supplies a

full range of support equipment. Hydraulic units and accessories for all slide
gate systems, ladle bore-fill sand and applicators, nozzle installation tools,
as well as the Persuader used for assisting in difficult non-openers are

A Metallic rod with an Exothermic head.

Placed in an oxygen lance, the clogged nozzle of a ladle or EAF is immediately cleared.
Used when a non-free opening of a ladle or EAF nozzle occurs.

May also be used for cleaning nozzles blocked by slag during ladle preparation.
 SLIDE GATE PLATE BRICK

SHARP Solutions slide gate plate brick are available in a number of

different chemistries and bond systems to best match the grades of steel and
chemistries of the slag. All of the plate brick are machined to exacting
tolerances, in some cases better than OEM specifications. SHARP Solutions
personnel look forward to working with the end user with the goals of lower
cost, higher performance and greater reliability. Combined with the metallic
equipment mentioned above, SHARP Solutions can do the engineering and
service a conversion to a more modern system.
