REFLECTION It is often best to learn by observing and then doing it yourself. Jesus does
Pop-in Coffee [ ] this by associating the proclamation of the gospel with healing, and then, having done it in
the presence of his disciples, he sends them out to do likewise. Significantly, at this early
stage of their training Jesus sends them only to the Jews, the lost sheep. Only later will
the ministry be opened up to the world.

CLEANING PARTY ST. MICHAELS WELL Saturday 24th June 10.00 a.m. Help would
be much appreciated to clean St. Michaels after the recent building work. Even if you can
only manage half an hour do come and join us.Please bring cleaning materials coffee and
biscuits provided.
REVIVE AT ST. MARYS, NORTH STAINLEY A new style of church service starts
this month in North Stainley. 'Revive' runs on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month at
4pm and will normally be led by the Reverend Nick Morgan. The service will be more
informal in style than our Sunday morning services and... well, rather than us trying to
describe it, why not come along and find out? The service is suitable for all ages (this does
not mean it is only aimed at children, though, by any means). This is in addition to North
Stainley's regular Sunday morning services (1st and 3rd Sundays of each month) which
continue as before. The first services are at 4pm on June 11th & 25th and July 9th in St
Mary's Church, North Stainley. All welcome.
SISTER RITA a new musical play by Jim Hunter, based on the life of Sister Rita, a no-
nonsense nun who runs a drop-in centre in one of the poorest parts of Manchester, will be
performed in Masham in the last week of October. The production will bring together
young people and adults. If you would like to take part in any capacity as an actor, a
musician, a technician, stage hand, front of house or marketing, come along on Saturday 1 st
July, at 3.30 p.m. to St. Marys Church, Masham, or contact Jim Hunter on 01765

Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus
Christ, through whom we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand; and we
boast in our hope of sharing the glory of God. And not only that, but we also boast in our
sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character,
and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because Gods love has
been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.
For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. Indeed, rarely
will anyone die for a righteous personthough perhaps for a good person someone might
actually dare to die. But God proves his love for us in that while we still were sinners
Christ died for us.

Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and pro -
claiming the good news of the kingdom, and curing every disease and every sickness.
When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and
helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, The harvest is plen -
tiful, but the labourers are few; therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers
into his harvest.
Then Jesus summoned his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to
cast them out, and to cure every disease and every sickness. These are the names of the
twelve apostles: first, Simon, also known as Peter, and his brother Andrew; James son of
Zebedee, and his brother John; Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax-col-
lector; James son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; Simon the Cananaean, and Judas Iscariot,
the one who betrayed him.
These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: Go nowhere among the Gen -
tiles, and enter no town of the Samaritans, but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Is-
rael. As you go, proclaim the good news, The kingdom of heaven has come near. Cure
the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. You received without pay-
ment; give without payment.
