ABSTRACT

The research is about the cohabitation which will be organized for HUCFL second year English majored
students. The research aim to provide a more general understanding about the advantages and
disadvantages of cohabitation for HUCFL second year English majored students, and some measures may
raise awareness of them about cohabitation.

In order to conduct this research, questionnaire method will be used.

There are six sections in this research:

- The introduction section will give you an overview of the research.

- The literature review section will provide the definitions and findings from the other researchers.

- The methodology section presents the method will be used in this research.

- The findings and discussion section contains the analysis of the data will be collected from the
questionnaires and interpretation.

- The implication section will give some suggestions to improve the quality of volunteer works for
students.

- The conclusion will summarize the problems and points out some limitations of this research.

METHODOLOGY

1. Subject of study

In order to have the validity and feasibility of the research, we will investigate 30 English-major second
year students at Hue University College of Foreign Languages. The research will carried out from 3/2017
at Hue University College of Foreign Languages.

2. Data collection

This data for this study will be collected through questionnaire. There are ten questions both open and
close questions. It will be designed focus on three main questions. The first one including question from1
to 4 will be aimed at investigating HUCFL English-major second year students about the benefits of
cohabitation. The next three questions were designed to find out some disadvantages of cohabitation.
The third cluster focused on the measures to raise awareness of students about cohabitation. 30 copies
of questionnaire will be delivered to 30 English-major second year students at Hue University College of
Foreign Languages. Nine close questions which ask students to circle one answer a, b, c, d, or e. and 1
open question to ask some idea from them. After that, we will collect all the questionnaires and started
to analyze.

3. Data analysis

The collected data in this research will be mainly analyzed with the help of quantitative approach to get
quantitative information for analysis; the collected data will be counted and converted in percentage.
These data will be presented in graphs for visual catching and understanding. Each piece of data analysis
will be followed by a general comment.

Nowadays, cohabitation is a hot problem in our society. Besides, it is more and more familiar to students.
However, there are students who have not awareness of some negative points of cohabitation which
they can face in. Especially with HUCFL second- year English- majored students that is reason why we
choose topic: HUCFL Second year English-majored perception of cohabitation. This research will be
carried out with purpose of find out the benefits that cohabitation brings for and the challenges of
cohabitation. From that, I will give solutions to improve their awareness of cohabitation. However, I still
have some mistakes in my research proposal. I hope that teacher and readers will give me useful
comments to make my research better. Besides, there are some people who are interesting in this topic
will continue my research to gain more successful, not only at HUCFL in particular but also popular in the
country in general.
