ASSURE Model Instructional Plan

Title : 7. Where are you?


Teacher : Nae yeong Oh
Grade : 4th year in the elementary school
Students can learn about many places in the house and expression
describing actions in that places.
Time : 40minutes

Analyze Learners

1. The number of students : 20 students are in the classroom


2. Male/ female : 10 boys and 10 girls in the classroom.
3. Target students' age :11 years old.
4. atmosphere of class : usually calm

In the low participance students, one student can't concentrate on the
class.

State Objectives
Given CD-ROM and flash cards, fourth grade students will sing a song
and record words and expressions what they listen using record system
with partner about places in the house.
Select Methods, Media, and Materials

1. I choose 2 methods. first of all, record and listening method using CD-
ROM second card game. I think most students are afraid of speaking
English in this class. So I want to give them a chance to speak what
they listen. so I choose listen-record-listen method in the listening class
using recording system. Second, our students like kinestic activity so I
prepared card game using action.

2. I choose CD ROM of text book, Tell me more kids CD( include


recording system) and projector.
To learn about subjects ( places in the house) and expressions ( Where
are you? I'm in ________. I'm __________.) in the listening class, It is
useful to use CD- ROM of text book. and before we start the real
listening time, I want to suggest words more authentic way. So I choose
Tell me more kids CD. In this CD, It includes song and word activity. In
motivation, they will learn songs about places in the house. So they will
know the subjects of this class. Students can learn and listen the words
what they click. for example, they will see whole house and when they
click living room, they can listen livingroom word pronunciation and what
we will do in that place. Also it includes recording system so they can
record and they can listen it.
3. I choose materials as listening handout, picture card
The reason why I choose listening handout is to check students'
listening comprehension and suggest guide line when students are
listening. Next, I choose picture cards to do activity. Learning style of
many students is kinestic. so I prepared activity with picture cards and do
an action according to right picture.

Utilize Media, Materials, and Methods

1. preview the materials : This lesson is going to learn about places in


the house so I preview the CD materials to show students to learn
subject and words. Also, I will preview record system to listen and repeat
the dialogue.

2. prepare the materials : I have to check if the CDs work well as well as
computers. To do record activity, I also have to check the headset and
speakers and projector. Also, I need to bring picture cards too.
3. prepare the environment : To do record system we can't take class in
the classroom. So I have to borrow classroom for English class ( 20
computers are available). Due to computers heat , The temperature is
very high. Therefore, we need airconditioner too.
4. Prepare the learner : All the students have to take class. In warm-up
time, to engage all students I will prepare the time to sing a song.
5. Provide the learning experience : I will provide singing experience to
suggest subject and recording experience for listening class and doing
activity with motion in group activity.
Require Learner Participation

motivation - all the students sing a song after listening the song.
guess what subject is (present their think)
listen & comprehension check - all the students have to listen to a
dialogue and write down the answer to the comprehension check
questions.

I would make rubric like that. That is just sample. I will invite my
co-workers to my class to check this multimedia class. I want to check
the media and materials and methods are related to this subject, and how
effective using technology in the class. and I will add about checking
participation and interest of the students (co workers's felt).
Also I will add the things that teachers can write down opinion freely.
