Todays Ministry Spotlight is pointed at our
Christian Education Team.
The purpose of the Christian Ed Team is to
educate and support people in the Christian faith
and to provide access to opportunities that
develop and grow discipleship.
The Christian Ed Team provides leadership teams
for Sunday School as well as Vacation Bible
School. This year, Day Camp counselors were
brought in from Carol Joy Holling Camp (campers
and counselors were busy here all week)!
The Christian Ed Team would love to have you be
a part of their mission to support and educate

Clare and Lonnie Kleensang have been
experiencing medical difficulties and expenses.
Lonnie is currently at Madonna Rehab in
Lincoln. Clare is making trips to Madonna
approximately twice weekly. To help defray
their expenses, there has been an envelope
placed in the office where donations can be
given to help them. If you wish to give, please
stop in the office or mark an amount on an
envelope and place the envelope with the money
in the offering plate. We pray for consistent
recovery.

at 2006 Hillview Drive from 7-10 PM.
Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy a concert
by Bennie and the Jets, a Tribute to Elton
John. Advance tickets $50. One hundred
percent (100%) of ticket sales goes directly
toward the purchase of the raw materials needed
to pack Mercy Meals. For more information and

God's Work Our Hands Sunday, September 10
Mark your calendar and participate! We need
EVERYONES PRAYERS and HELP . There
will be a huge variety of service project
activities. Also if you need a yellow t-shirt, we
will be ordering them shortly. Cost is $10/shirt
prior to ordering.

from a living, daring confidence in Gods grace."
NOTE: If there are individuals in the
congregation that need yard work, inside small
repairs/cleaning that can be completed in a
couple hours, please call the church and Mission
Life will contact them. These would be service
projects for September 10th.

Youre invited to celebrate Independence Day
with Dynamite Duo and The Sparklers! The free-
admission concerts will be held Monday, July 3, at
7 PM and Tuesday, July 4 at 2 PM at First Baptist
Church, 404 W. Benjamin Ave. in Norfolk.
The concerts will feature patriotic, sacred,
Broadway and golden oldies music performed to
the glory of God by local musicians on organ and
grand piano, band and stringed instrumentation.
The church is air-conditioned and handicap-
accessible. Doors open one hour prior to show
times. All are welcome to attend.

we will be accepting donations in the
Fellowship Hall on Wed., July 19 (noon
7pm) and Thurs., July 20 (9am - noon). No
adult clothing, please, but childrens
clothing is accepted. All proceeds will go to
Bright Horizons, resources for survivors of
domestic violence and secual assault. The
community looks forward to this annual
event and always comments on the nice

It was quite the surprise to come to
church on June 11 and find out that
you all were celebrating my 5 years of
being at St John's and my 10 years of
ordination. I didn't have a clue you
were doing it that morning until Pastor
David said something at the start of
8:30 AM Worship. Good job,
everyone! And THANK YOU SO MUCH
for all the kind words, cards, notes,
well wishes, breakfast treats, gift
cards, and bottle of wine! Your
encouragement and gratitude is
always greatly appreciated, along with
your being the body of Christ and
doing God's work with your hands.
