Aspects of Verbs

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the learners should be able to:
1. Enumerate the different aspects of verbs;
2. Identify the aspects of verbs used in different sentences;
3. Construct sentences correctly using aspects of verbs;
4. Demonstrate mastery of the topic by composing an essay; and
5. Realize the importance of how the aspect of verbs affects our daily conversations.

III. Procedure
A. Preparatory Activities:

3. Checking of Attendance
B. Motivation:
Show various everyday life pictures and have an interactive class by asking
them what the picture is portraying.
C. Lesson Proper:
1. Enumerate the six (6) aspects of verbs.
2. Explain the syntax of each tense and when and how it is used.
Perfect Tenses:
Past = had + past participle
Present = has/have + past participle
Future = will have + past participle
Progressive Tenses:
Past = was/were + -ing form of the verb
Present = is/are/am + -ing form of the verb
Future = will be + -ing form of the verb
3. Provide examples for each tense.
Ex. I will be going to school in 10 minutes.

I have been going to school since I was three years old.

IV. Evaluation
A. Identify the Aspect of Verbs used in each sentence. Write PPT if it is Past Perfect, PrPT
if it is Present Perfect tense, FPT if it is Future Perfect tense, PrPrT if it is Present
Progressive tense, PPrT if it is Past Progressive tense and FPr if it is Future
Progressive tense. (10 pts)

1. Ria had gone to bed.


2. I have eaten beef jerky for dinner.
3. I am going to the festival tomorrow.
4. Mariedelle was slowly falling in love.
5. Micheal has bought a new house.
6. I think we have seen this film already.
7. Mariyela is leaving today
8. Neil had left his phone in Valkyrie.
9. Ding will be going to the the theatre tonight.
10. Jezzi will have gone to KFC by the time we arrive.

B. Construct sentences for each tense/aspect of verb. Use the given sentence as a basis.
