On behalf of my constituents, | am asking that you do everything in your power to prohibit the Texas Department of Transportation from tolling this roadway. Montgomery County takes pride in being one of the reddest counties in Texas. The Republican Party of Texas platform plainly addresses toll roads and asks the state to fully fund roadways in Texas. When you ran for office, a plank in your platform was no more toll roads. Since your election, you have stated several times your opposition of these roads. Please continue to follow- through on your campaign pledge to stop toll roads in Montgomery County and throughout the state of Texas. Regards, ey James Noack Commissioner, Precinct 3 CC: Tryon D. When Governor Abbott ran for office, he campaigned to fix Texas roads without raising taxes, fees, or tolls and to change the atmosphere at the Capitol. He emphasized that his plan did not involve any toll roads and he was not interested in adding toll roads to his plan. While the funding for roads has not been resolved, the last two sessions of the Texas legislature have made some progress. | have sent a letter advocating for Governor Abbott to stand true on his campaign platform. Montgomery County takes pride in being one of the reddest counties in Texas. The Republican Party of Texas platform plainly addresses toll roads and asks the state to fully fund roadways in Texas. | urge each of you, as the Texas Transportation Commission Board, to stand with me and prohibit the tolling of SH 249 from FM 1774 to the Montgomery County line and stand behind Governor Abbott on his opposition of toll roads. This resolution was not a unanimous decision as it obtained a 3-2 vote. | was one of the nay votes for this resolution and firmly believe if this contentious initiative is placed before the taxpayers of Montgomery County it will be voted down. | hereby ask for TxDOT to build, fund and maintain the 3.6-mile section of the 249 Tollway.
