What’s New in This Release

Informatica PowerCenter 8.1.1

This release of Data Integration Management delivers Informatica PowerCenter 8.1.1 with
Service Pack 3 and uses the Informatica installer. Earlier Data Integration Management releases
delivered Informatica PowerCenter 7.1.x.

This release of Data Integration Management supports these operating systems:

o AIX 5.2 ML7 and 5.3 ML3 (PowerPC)
o Linux (Red Hat 4.0 AS)

Upgrading to Data Integration Management Release 9.3.1.1

You must meet these requirements when upgrading from an earlier release of Data Integration
Management or Informatica PowerCenter:

• If you registered the Hyperion® Shared Services authentication plug-in for an earlier
release, deregister the Shared Services plug-in and then use Informatica PowerCenter
Repository Manager to recreate the users. Data Integration Management 9.3.1.1
supports only native Informatica authentication.

• Uninstall any previous installation of Data Integration Management before upgrading to

Release 9.3.1.1.

• Upgrade your repositories to this release. For instructions, see Chapter 18, “Upgrading
PowerCenter,” in the Informatica PowerCenter 8.1.1 Installation and Configuration
Guide.

Installing Data Integration Management Release 9.3.1.1

Notes:

• The license key referred to in the Informatica PowerCenter Installation and Configuration
Guide can be downloaded from http://licensecodes.oracle.com/hyperion.html.

• You must have administrative privileges on the target computer to install Data
Integration Management.

Data Integration Management Release 9.3.1.1 installation follows this task sequence:

1. Download one of these files from Oracle E-Delivery and extract the file into a temporary
folder:

• Windows—dim_93110_infa811_windows_x86.zip

• UNIX:

o AIX—dim_93110_infa811_aix_32.zip

o HP-UX—dim_93110_infa811_hpux_32.zip

o Linux—dim_93110_infa811_linux_32.zip

o Solaris—dim_93110_infa811_solaris_32.zip

2. Install Informatica PowerCenter 8.1.1 by extracting one of these files, which is included
in the file that you extracted in step 1:

• Windows—pc811_windows32.zip

• UNIX

o AIX—pc811_aix32.tar

o HP-UX—pc811_hpux32.tar

o Linux—pc811_linux32.tar

o Solaris—pc811_solaris32.tar

3. Install Informatica PowerCenter 8.1.1 SP3 by extracting one of these files, which is
included in the file that you extracted in step 1:

• Windows—pc811sp3_win_x86.zip

o HP-UX— pc811sp3_hpux_pa32.tar

o Linux— pc811sp3_linux_x86.tar

o Solaris—pc811sp3_solaris_sp32.tar
