Appendix B: Acceptance of an Oeko-tex Certificate - Checklist

The OEKO-TEX Standard 100 is a comprehensive, third-party testing and certification system for textile products at all stages of production. Textiles can only be
certified if all components meet the specified requirements. Test criteria are updated annually and go beyond existing legal regulations.
Oeko-tex Website: https://www.oeko-tex.com/en

Oeko-tex certificates can be accepted in lieu of chemical test reports if the following requirements are met:

* The certificate shows compliance to all applicable chemicals for the product, in accordance to the Debenhams Risk Assessment Matrix for Chemical Testing.
* The issue date of the certificate is within 12 months
* The applicant name is either the Debenhams Supplier OR the Supplier can provide proof that the material is sourced from the applicant (such as a P.O.)
* The fibre composition of the material (for which the certificate has been provided as proof of chemical compliance) matches that stated on the certificate

* The certificate class is correct for the product:

~ Class I - Shows compliance for both children's and adults' products

~ Class II - Shows compliance only for products for children who are over 3 years of age and adults.
Note: For any children's products that require compliance to Debenhams' phthalates requirement, either a Class I certificate, or a test report will be necessary.
