means of Crucifixion and has
thereby set us free from corruption,

When we know that we need Divine Help, we will frequently pray.
And by much beseeching, our heart becomes humbled, for there is no one
who is needy and asking, without being humble.
And God will not despise ... a broken and contrite heart...
Until our heart has become humble, we will not rest from distractions, for
Humility restrains our heart, and as soon as we have become humble,
Divine Mercy will surround and envelop us.
And when Mercy draws near, our heart will perceive Divine Help at once,
because some Confidence and Force will also move within us.
And when our heart perceives that Divine Help is approaching, and that
God is our Support and our Helper, then we are filled with Faith.
Consequently, we will behold and understand that Prayer is the Port of our
Help, the Fountain of our Salvation, the Treasure of our Confidence, the
Sheet-Anchor amidst the storms of our life, the Light in the Darkness, the
Walking Stick of the weak, the Shelter in times of temptation, the Holy
Medicine in times of illness, the Shield of Protection in our Battles, and
the Sharpest of Arrows against our enemies.

Stand on guard and protect your intellect from thoughts while you pray.
