The above named client, hereinafter called CLIENT, contracts with Mr. Prasana Kesavan of M/s
STUDIO 7 Consultants P. Ltd., hereinafter called CONSULTANT, to obtain acoustical consulting
services within the scope of work defined below. Scope of Work

The SCOPE of Work is limited to do a detailed analysis for speech intelligibility of the two underground
metro stations at Chennai, defined as the PROJECT, from the drawings and information provided by
the CLIENT, and the submission of recommendations for good acoustics in the above mentioned space.

The SCOPE of WORK for the CONSULTANT for this PROJECT is divided thus.
Simulation of the various enclosed and open spaces on an acoustical modelling software, and
analysis of parameters for adequate speech intelligibility and a psychoacoustically comfortable
environment.
Recommendations for acoustical treatment for areas that do not meet the speech intelligibility
criteria.

The SCOPE of WORK does not include:

Analysis for soundproofing
Physical Measurements post construction

DELIVERABLES FROM THE CONSULTANT

The CONSULTANT shall provide a solution in the form of recommendations based on simulation of the
architectural space on acoustical modelling software. The deliverables from the CONSULTANT include
the following.

1. Report containing
a. Simulation results and conclusions on whether the specified spaces meet the speech
intelligibility criteria.
b. Acoustical treatment recommendations for areas that do not meet the criteria
c. Recommendation of products that match technical specification required to solve the
acoustical issues.
 2. Edited drawings highlighting the areas of treatment, relevant markups and cross sections.

SITE VISITS
This project requires four site visits to present the findings of the simulation and to table the report.

TIMELINES

The timeline for design is 27 working days, from the date of the first deposit. The design can be released
in phases, so that the schedule is not impeded, or as a consolidated report, as the CLIENT may prefer.

CONSULTANCY FEE PAYMENT SCHEDULE

The current Fee of consultancy services described in the above-mentioned SCOPE of work is
Rs.17, 80,000 (Rupees Seventeen Lakhs Eighty Thousand only). The amount is exclusive of 12.36 %
service tax and travel. The amount is to be paid in the following stages.

1. On award of contract (50 %) (Rs.8,90,000)

2. On tabling of report and recommendations 40% (Rs. 7,12,000)
3. On release of report and recommendations 10% ( R. 1,78,000)

FEE BREAK UP
Estimated number of Software models to be created: 20 ( ~10 for each station)
Cost of acoustical modelling: Rs. 1,20,000 per model, inclusive of
creating 3D models, importing them to the software,
simulating aural environment
computing run time for calculations,
results analysis and reporting, recommendations if required
Mapping audio coverage of the space

Total cost of acoustical modelling: Rs. 24,00,000

Bulk discounted cost: Rs. 31,000 per model
Total discounted cost of acoustical modelling: Rs. 1780000
Tax ( 12.36 % ST) = Rs. 220000
Cost of Travel per trip over and above 4 trips = Rs. 7500/-
Total Cost = Rs. 20,00,000/- (all inclusive) (Rupees Twenty Lakhs Only)
INDEPENDENT CONSULTING

The CONSULTANT shall make no financial gains by the sale of any product or by recommendation of
any vendor related to this PROJECT. At all times, the CONSULTANT shall charge only for the time and
effort spent on the PROJECT.

VALIDITY OF CONTRACT
This contract is valid for 2 month from the date on which sent to the CLIENT. After two months, renewed
rates will apply, in which case, CONSULTANT shall seek concurrence from the CLIENT before further
discussions.

The technical solution is recommendatory in nature, and analysed from simulations on industry-standard
software, and the solution if installed correctly, will deliver satisfactory results. The CONSULTANT
cannot be held financially liable for improper installation, should any arise. Any changes from the
recommended configuration must be communicated to the CONSULTANT.
