Warm-Up Review
As others are entering, is there a
strategy that you used out of our first
day workshop? What did you do
differently and how did it go?
Premise of CHAMPs
Classroom organization has a huge impact on
student behavior.
Teachers should overly teach students how to
behave responsibly.
Teachers should focus more time, attention and
energy on acknowledging responsible behavior than
on responding to misbehavior.
Teachers should preplan their responses to
misbehavior so that they respond in a brief, calm
and consistent manner.

Task 4: Family Contacts
School perspective: There is
not support from home. Parent
just does not follow through.
Parent perspective: Everytime

how I can help (Ruby Payne). I
feel on the firing line.
Greater needs of the child =
Greater need to establish a
good family contact. These
tend to be the most difficult
ones to reach.
