EXPLORATION INQUIRY APLICATION

Primary School: El Sol i la Lluna (Castellar del Valls) Level: 6th Teachers: Glria Rincn and Isabel Graells Teacher Assistants: Aida Banyuls and Anna Martin School year: 2016-17

We make a workshop with an expert. He collects string instruments all over the world.
We make groups and choose an instrument, and observe the sound qualities, the number of string, length,
wide and materials, also for the sound box.

We observe a model. Its a metal box with rubber bands.


We try to answer one question: How does the instrument make a sound?
We share it with the other groups and start our connecting web about sound
We build our own model making hypothesis

Lets invent a new musical instrument! A sound igloo!


Each group will have one side of the cube.
Lets think about shape, materials and sound properties!
We invent symbols for sound properties, we measure, build, work in group and get to
agreements with the help from the music teacher.
