Experiences that spark creativity

Microsoft is an is an American multinational that develops, manufactures, licenses, supports and
sells computer software, consumer electronics, personal computers and services. Microsoft
education empowers the students of today to create a world of tomorrow. On June 30 th our Principal
Mrs.Poonam Kochitty organised a session of Microsoft in Education a training programme for
teachers that would be helpful for the school to portray itself as Microsoft Showcase School and
also to equip the teachers with modern tools and apps for a collaborative classroom..

The session began with a short introduction of Microsoft and its role in the education
world.Microsoft Schools and Microsoft Showcase Schools are a global community of schools
engaged in digital transformation to improve learning outcomes.Followed by a video, Thinking
with ink and a video regarding the usage of MICROSOFT PORTAL.

Teachers were introduced to

1. The Microsoft website and courses.

2. An insight into theMicrosoft Innovative Educator tool as an exciting journey for professional
networking.
3. Skype in the Classroom as an online community that enables thousands of teachers to inspire
the next generation of global citizens through transformative learning over Skype
4. Some courses focusing on how to use tools like OneNote, Sway, and Office Mix, are more
designed to teach how to integrate technology into instruction. Lastly ending into assessment.
5. Finding lesson plans that can be downloaded or viewed in the classroom
6. Badges and points
7. Badges, a great way to find experienced educators in the community and showcase ones
expertise with educators around the globe. Earning points was also introduced to the
teachers.
8. The most exciting part of the workshop for the teachers was creating stories and
presentations using Sway.
9. A questionnaire with some exciting queries of the participants were also addressed .
(Related to KODU ,YAMMER ,MI Experts ,MCSE ,Class hack, teachers in a multicultural
classroom and imagine academy) .
10. Throughout our workshop participants tried out their hands on the various technological
options discussed. The journey accompanied a number of exciting videos which turned the
workshop itself somehow like a virtual reality experiences in itself.foriety of other vities as well.
