A warm congratulations to Steven McClenahan 15, who completed his Initiation
Sacraments in the Church! Steven became fully Catholic by receiving his first Holy
Faith Communion on Sunday, May 17, during our Baccalaureate Mass and the Sacrament of
Confirmation the following Sunday, May 24, at the Cathedral Basilica. We are very proud
of Steven and his commitment to his faith!
Stevens journey of faith and his desire to be fully initiated
in the Sacraments began when he made his Kairos Retreat in
February. He approached Campus Ministers, Sandy Leibrecht
and Larry Driscoll, during the retreat and spoke of his desire
to truly become Catholic. He said that he was baptized as
a child but wanted to learn more about Catholicism. Steven stayed after
school for about 6 weeks and studied the Catholic faith. He was always well
prepared for each session and asked many great questions about
the Sacraments, church rituals and responsibilities
of being a Catholic. He became very engaged at
Sunday Masses and was ready to receive his Sacraments.
The entire Bishop DuBourg community is so happy for Steven
and proud of his efforts and inspiring commitment in furthering
his faith life as a Catholic!

ort The Annual Catholic Appeal presented a $125,000 check at our Awards Mass on
Supp May 5, 2015. This check is part of the ACAs annual commitment to Archdiocesan
Catholic secondary education. Bishop DuBourg is one of ten Archdiocesan high
schools that receives this support. Bishop Rice presided and preached the Mass
during which he reminded students, staff and faculty about the commitment of the
Archdiocese to Bishop DuBourg and the other Catholic high schools in St. Louis.
This money supports tuition assistance, faith activities
and academic enrichment programs. In turn, the
Bishop DuBourg community donated $500 to the ACA.
We are truly grateful for the Archdioceses continued
commitment to the Annual Catholic Appeal and to
schools like DB.

feet in Guntown, MS. Working with their foreman, Wes Partin,
the students and adult volunteers built the walls, installed the
windows and doors, interior framing and built the roof.
They witnessed real progress in building the house, learned
valuable new skills, met and worked with the family who would become
the new owners of the home and met several Board members of HFH.

The purpose of this One-to-One Tablet Initiative is to provide our students the
opportunity to integrate technology into all aspects of the educational experience.
Our goal is to fully engage the students in the learning process and extend their
classroom experiences beyond pages of books and walls of the school building.
Utilizing these tablets on a regular basis will allow students to understand the valuable role of technology
in their high school education and in their future educational endeavors.
You can find a Q & A about our new One-to-One Initiative on our website
under Academics > Technology. Hopefully, it will answer all of your
questions concerning our new tablets. If you have any additional questions
