Message from the Chancellor
India had an outstanding position in Education, Music, Art and
Culture since time immemorial.
,rs'klwrL; ldk'kknxztUeu%A
Loa Loa pfj=ka f'k{ksju~ i`fFkO;ka loZekuok%AA (euq- 2@20)
Till eighteenth century, India had a leading position in the
educational, economic and social perspectives. India had 18 percent
partnership in world market and had 27 percent in global income. Nearly
7,32,000 primary and secondary Gurukuls were active in education as
substantiated by German scholar-Max Muller, and English scholar- W.
Litner in their documents about India, under the British Raj. There were
more than fourteen thousand higher educational centers imparting education on at least 18 different
subjects-Mathematics, Astronomy, Astrology, Cosmology, Physics, Geology, Metallurgy, Philosophy,
Surgery, Medical science and Technology, Management etc.
Outside political forces such as imperialism played dirty games to enslave India for centenaries.
Though Indians were enslaved, but their culture, heritage, tradition, and education could not be
eradicated. Today India is one of the countries producing highest percentage of brilliant scholars who are
leaders in their individual fields. From the fields of Science and Technology to Research and
Development, from Literature and Philosophy to Art and Music, Indians have made their presence felt
globally. Internationally acclaimed educational institutions like the IITs, and IIMs are imparting
education on Science, Technology and Management. Researchers and counsellors have observed that
India is generating highly educated youths with poor empathy, discipline, and self-management.
University of Patanjali incorporates Yoga, life management, skills, good manners, Vedic rituals, in
the teaching-learning process. We hope to establish indigenous educational system and mould our youth
into role models and successful persons by instilling universal values to them and awakening their dignity
and divinity. University of Patanjali serves as an ideal Gurukul of Vedic Sage Tradition and is firmly
determined to develop professionally competent, self-managed and socially empathetic youths.
(Lokeh jkenso)
Message from the Vice-Chancellor
Devaluation of wisdom and psychic impressions in civilized
society is not a good sign. So we long to propagate educational
revolution by advancing fusion of knowledge and wisdom and psychic
refinement in our students. We hope to inculcate qualities of self-
reliance, self management and immense national love among youth who
will be capable enough to initiate innovative social and educational
revolutions for national upliftment. We wish to propagate indigenous
health entrepreneurship to get our nation rid of atrocity in the name of
treatment, thereby promoting total health care. It is because phisque is
the main means of Dharma.
'kjhjek|a [kyq keZlkkue~A (oqqQ- la-)
Indigenous therapy systems based on Yoga and Ayurveda is cost effective, easy, accessible, scientific,
holistic and free from side-effects. So we wish to mainstream Yoga and Ayurveda under national therapy
systems by producing eminent scholars of both subjects at University of Patanjali (UOP). UOP aims at
rejuvenating a new era by triggering novel revolution in the domains of health and education. We hope to
produce graduates who will be competent enough to reduce unemployment, famine, and health problems
by promoting indigenous entrepreneurships and employment opportunity. They will work as change-
agents and contribute significantly to build a healthy, civilized nation, thereby making India a global
center of peace and harmony.
Our Vedic tradition is an eternal treasure for both tangible and intangible aspects of knowledge. We
are firmly resolved to establish UOP as a leading educational institution of the world for imparting quality
education on Yoga, Ayurveda, Divine Culture, Natural and Applied Sciences, Value Based Management,
Social Sciences and allied knowledge streams as per the contemporary need. Launching of novel
curriculum developed by integrating Yoga, Ayurveda, Nature Cure and other indigenous therapeutic
techniques, UOP will be one of the greatest hub for holistic health management and thus enable job
placement opportunities for its scholars. At the end, I extend my best wishes to all learners .

About the University
University of Patanjali (UOP) was established in the year 2006. The University is established
through an act of State legislature- Act No.04/2006 published in the Gazette of Uttranchal
Government on 5.4.2006 and recognized by UGC vide Order No.170/XXIV/2007 dated 15.2.2007.
The University is a sister organization of Patanjali Yogpeeth, Haridwar, India. The University is
named after the great Indian sage, Patanjali (circa 900 B.C.) who first compiled monumental writings
on Yoga, in aphorisms, which can be easily understood by people in the modern times.
University of Patanjali was established with the philosophical vision of His Holiness Swami
Ramdev and Revered Acharya Balkrishna to give new dimensions to the Philosophy of Yoga and
Ayurveda, the oldest traditions not only in India but also across the globe to attain self- knowledge,
wisdom, discipline, transformation and realization.
36

Create and advocate knowledge globally to facilitate alumni's job placement.
Initiate teaching-learning and innovations on Yoga & Ayurveda to empower health and wealth of
common man for strengthening entire nation.
37
e) Suitable action plans are given below:
To initiate job creations in the educational and health institutions of our country, and the world at large.
To promote Panchkarma, Shatkarma and other traditional therapeutic procedures in Patanjali
Chikitsalay run by Patanjali Yogpeeth and to supply Vaidyas and Yogacharya to other centers.
To teach and train students in a way so that they can set up their own Institutions/Centers of Yoga and
Ayurveda to create new employment opportunities for themselves and others as well. Patanjali
Yogpeeth will extend its cooperation in this process of making students self-reliant.
