I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard The learner understands the principles and uses of a concept
paper.
B. Performance Standard The learner produces a well-balanced concept paper in a
specific discipline.
C. Learning Competencies/ Determines the ways a writer can elucidate on a concept by
Objectives definition, explication and clarification.
At the end of the fifty-minutes period, the students can:
identify the kinds of definition
appreciate value of definition as a writers way to
elucidate a concept
write a definition of some terms
rewrite some definitions for clarity

Preliminaries (5 mins)
Prayer - To start the day with Gods grace, let the class stand for a
prayer.
Greetings - Best morning class! How are you today? Its good. Im glad
that we are all fine.
Attendance Checking - Let each student check if his/her seatmate is around (both
in the right and left side).
Reading of the House Rules - Call one student to read one rule from all the house rules
posted on the board.
Reading of the objectives - The teacher reads to the class the objectives of the lesson.
C. Presenting examples/instances of
the new lesson
Activity (10 mins)
- In 5 groups, the students will do this task.
Task 2: Know Me Read the paragraphs given and answer
the following guide questions:
1. What is paragraph about?
2. How is the term social business defined?
3. What characteristics of social business are given in the
Analysis paragrapgh
(5 mins)
Task 3. Come and Share One member of each group will
share their answers on the guide questions given.
D. Discussing new topics and - The teacher gives feedback about the answers of each
practicing skills #1 group in Task 3 and connects it to the lesson proper.
