Our good is the lifeline to many lives.


But when we don't take care of ourselves as we should, we become
vulnerable to diseases, it is important we need to remember that our
health not only affects us, it affects many others - the lives of
everyone close to us.
It's time to rethink the approach to protecting our health and wellness.
The world is facing several major health crisis. Every year, new
devastating diseases appear and the medical community cannot
respond fast enough. What's more, scientists tell us that the race to develop newer and
better drugs and antibiotics is not a race we are going to win.
Given these challenges we must rethink our approach.
Medicine is generally a reactionary science. In one respect
this is wonderful. If we are hurt badly we desperately want

What does this all mean to those who see themselves as the picture of health?
The wellness window of opportunity is one that could close at any time. We are healthy
mainly because of the vigour of our immune systems.
Instead of taking health for granted, we can bolster and ensure vigorous health by
supporting our immune system function so that it functions to its optimal.
Preventing Diseases
You can prevent illness / diseases only
when you are healthy or vulnerable to illness,
but once illness sets in reverse it and dont
try to manage it by taking preventive steps.
Remember, Every time you eat or drink, you
are either feeding disease or ghting it.
Reversing Diseases
All diseases do not fall from the sky nor do
they just happen. We give them to ourselves
slowly, one day at a time, over a long period
of time, by the way we live, think, act, eat, and
handle stress. We give ourselves cancer - and
every other disease that we develop. None of us do it on purpose. We do it ignorantly,
but we do it just the same.
First, let's take a look at disease. The word has come to represent something scary and
something over which we have little or no control. It means ugly things are happening to an
organ or organs of our bodies. We need to change this mind-set.
Getting down to health basics, a more revealing way to think of disease is to write and say
it as dis-ease. This gives you back control over your health.
Think about it. When you are in a situation where you are not at ease, for instance at a
gathering of some sort where people are discussing something that makes you feel
uncomfortable. Do you stay there and just let the situation 'happen to you' or do you
change the situation (walk away, or change the subject)?
You DO something to put yourself at ease.
This is the kind of mind-set is what we are talking about. Whatever your health concerns
are right now, determine that what you need to do is make changes that will put your body
systems at ease, support your immune system to do its work efciently. These health basics
are the best place to start.

No matter, who we are, where we live or what we do, whether we will live a healthy or a
debilitated life depends solely on the health of our immune system, the rst and last

We might have different priorities in our life but for our immune system there is only priority

Threats to immune system


We become vulnerable to diseases when the threats we are experiencing on a day to day
basis creates havoc in our immune system,
Internal (heredity, old age, inammation, stress,..)
External (radiation, pollution, changed life style, drug abuse,...) disturbs the functioning our
immune system as a result our immune system becomes dysfunctional.
When our immune system becomes dysfunctional or imbalance sets it, it either becomes,
Overactive - the body attacks and damages its own tissues (autoimmune diseases) and
cause allergies.

Underactive decreases the body's ability to ght invaders, causing vulnerability to

When not attended these disorders / diseases moves on to the acute stage and then moves
on into the chronic and degenerative stages.
In the beginning of disease, the tissues become damaged or irritated and inammation sets
in. It is the job of the immune system to remove the excess uid and wastes from the
damaged area through the lymph nodes, which act like mini sewage treatment plants to
remove bacteria, toxins and so forth from the lymph before returning it to the blood stream.
If the immune system is weak this healing process does not take place, then the cells in the
area begin to weaken or die.
