Degree wise closeness of lagnesh or karyesh with a retrograde planet is bad and may lead to failure of
prashna

Aspect of a retrograde planet on Lagna / Karya bhava indicates hindrances

A retrograde planet becoming the reason of a prashna will not let the situation changes as long as it is
retrograde.

A benefic retrograde shows some repeat action but favorable good results in the end

A malefic retrograde shows some repeat action with obstacle but may not be favorable in the end

Lagnesh or karyesh if retrograde and posited with lord of 6 th 8th or 12th house will lead to failure of
prashna.

SOME IMPORTANT POINTS

A planet just entering into a sign whether related to karyesh/lagnesh or not indicates some trouble
pertaining to significations of its or of the house it occupies. As long as the planet remains in the sign,
the trouble will continue.

Planets in close degrees Benefics or malefics if in close degrees with lagnesh/karyesh (with or without
aspect, ignoring the sign) whether having any relation or not either enhance the value or afflict the
lagnesh/karyesh.

Upward looking sign / planet in lagna denotes success.

A) By difference in degrees between lagnesh and karyesh

 If lagnesh 11 deg

Karyesh 24 deg

Then 24 11 = 13 deg

If Karyesh is Mercury, then it denotes -2 months = 60 days

So timing = 13x60/30 = 26 days

B) Modern method

Identify the planet that, barring the sign, is degreewise closest to the lagnesh or karyesh
whichever is stronger. Find out the two time measures of the relevant planets as per table 1.
Then refer to table 2. Time of fructification will as many as the difference between the two
planets in degrees.
