Kuala Lumpur Klang BRT :
Busway Design Concept - At-grade Segregated Busway

Segregated busway configuration is designed to cater for

the following scenario:
High speed mix traffic sections
Congested mix traffic sections
To achieve Gold Standards segregated busway is the
preferred type of busway configuration since the BRT
operation is separated from other traffic by means of
physical barriers and signalization. This results in
congestion free space on the busway dedicated only to
BRT Buses which leads to higher speed and reliability of
the BRT service. This type of configuration is ideal where
the road congestion would be a major obstacle for BRT
service operation and ROW is not constrained.

Example of Segregated Busway applied in Bogota
