E-Voters
Ready Reference Guide

For members who opt to cast their votes electronically, separate login IDs and passwords will
be provided by the Election Committee. Using these IDs and passwords member will have to
create e-vote IDs and passwords of their own choice and ensure that the same is noted for
gaining access to the vote casting area.
For voters convenience snap shots of various screens are reproduced below:
1. New Registration process

Type www.icapelection.org in the address bar of your browser
The following screen will appear:-
Select option New Registration at this point.

Once you select New Registration option, the following screen will appear:-
At this screen, enter the login ID and password you have received from
Election Committee for E-voting.

2. Verification of Credentials
Once you successfully login, system will take you further by displaying the following
screen:
Here matching of your credentials will be made for security reasons.
You will be required to enter your Date of Birth and ICAP Registration Date.

3. Creation of Login ID and Password for e-voting

Once your credentials are matched, a sub-screen will be displayed just below the
credentials screen, as shown below:
At this stage, you can create login ID and password of your own choice. Please note down
and save the e-vote ID and password created by you at a secure place, because this will be
needed at the time of casting your e-vote for the Council and Regional Committee Election
2017.
You can log out from the system without creating your login ID and password and can create
the same at a later stage. This process is explained in Section 8. However, we encourage you
to create the e-voter ID and password during your first login.
You can log out after creating your e-vote ID and can cast your vote sometimes later during
the permissible election days. However, in such a case you need to login to the e-vote portal
using your own created e-vote ID, as a registered e-voter as explained in Section 8.

4. E-voting Area
Once you create your e-vote ID and password, the system will automatically takes
you at the following e-voting screen:
At this stage you have a choice to cast your vote in any sequence i.e. Council or
Regional Committee.

5. Regional Committee Ballot

If you select the Regional Committee first, the following ballot screen will be
displayed:
The system will automatically check for exact number of candidates to whom you can cast
your vote. In case you mark more or less than the requisite votes, the system will never
proceed further. Once you mark the requisite number of votes and enter your e-vote IDs
password, the system will proceed further.
You can log out after casting your e-vote to the Regional Committee and can cast vote to the
Council sometimes later during the permissible election days. However, in such a case you
need to login to the e-vote portal using your own created e-vote ID, as a registered e-voter.
This is explained in Section 8. However, we encourage you to cast your vote in a
single session to avoid last minute hassles and confusions.

6. Council Ballot
Once you successfully cast your vote to the Regional Committee, the following ballot
screen will be displayed:
The system will automatically check for exact number of candidates to whom you can
cast your vote. In case you mark more or less than the requisite votes, the system will
never proceed further. Once you mark the requisite number of votes and enter your e-
vote IDs password, the system will proceed further.
You are successfully logged out

7. Confirmation Screen
Once you have successfully casted your vote to both the Council and the Regional
Committee, the following screen will be displayed:
This completes the e-voting process.

8. Intermediate Log outs and re-logins (optional)

If you log out after creating your e-vote ID without casting your vote, or you log out
after casting vote to Council only or to the Regional Committee only, the following
screen will be displayed:
However, to avoid last minute hassles and problems, we encourage you to cast your
vote to both the Council and the Regional Committee, immediately after creating your
e-vote ID.
To gain access to the e-ballot screen, you need to open the page www.icapelection.org
in your browser. The following screen will appear:

Select the Already Registered option and click Continue to

proceed further.
The following screen will appear:
At this screen enter the e-vote ID and password created by you as described in
Section 3.
Once you successfully logged in, the system will take you to the screen as described
in Section 4. However, if you have already casted your vote to Council, then you will
be given access to the Regional Committee Ballot screen only. Similarly if you have
already casted your vote to the Regional Committee, you will be given access to the
Council Ballot only.
Rest of the process is same as described in Sections 4 through 7.
