Carl von Linn (Carl Linnaeus) became a world known botanist thanks to his
job in dividing nature into three kingdoms: plants, animals and minerals in the
18th century. He travelled the world, named 8 000 plants and 4 000 animal
species, and wrote 70 books.

Linn was born in Rshult, Smland, in 1707.

His birthplace is today a beautiful culture reserve
with 18th century landscape and gardens, where
old farming and cultivating methods. The team at
Rshult has been working for the past decade to
recreate the 18th century landscape.

The garden at Rshult is a tranquil place, almost

like a break in time. Come along on a guided tour
with Linnaeus himself, walk the marked paths
and discover all the different plats in the gardens.
Visit the old houses and museums and have an
organic fika with coffee and homemade cakes
or a vegetarian buffet.
