PART 1. EARTH WORKS

Earih \\'orks shail consist of Top Soil Stripping and Grubbing, Excavation. Embankn:ent,
Subgrade Preparation, Slope Trimming and Turhng in accordance rvith the requircments of
the Contract.

1.1 TOP SOIL STRTPPING A}iI} GRLTBBING

1.1.1 Top Soil Stripping

{1) Description
This r,ork shall consisl of stripping, excavation, loading, hauling ard disposal
of topsoil of the glound surfacc rvithin the lirnits of the uork neeessary fcr the
construction of the roadrvay and riverbank proteclion in accordance q,ith the
requiren:ett of the Contraet. Thc topsoil to be stripped shall be unsuitable soil
for road foundation.

(2) Constr*ction L'le.thod


Prior to stal1ing the nork, iury standing lvater shall br. drain+d. During
construction, the Cr:ntractor sirall rnaintain the work area in suclt rvay that ihey
rvi11 be fi'ee draining and that no rvater rr'iil be pooled in these areas by means of
temporary drainage lacilities such as ditches and basins.

deerned by the Consultant to be suitable and fenile for agricuhural purposes
