Thursday, August 31, from 6-9 PM. Meet in
the Fellowship Hall and join in the fun of
creating your own personal masterpiece!

Team for an evening of painting
fun! No artistic talent is
required! All are welcome! Youll
receive step-by-step instructions
to paint a fun picture on a 16x20
canvas. Parents and a child could share a
canvas, too. Youll discover a talent you
didnt even know existed! Lite snacks and
drinks provided. Cost is $30/canvas. All
paint supplies, brushes, etc. provided. Please
RSVP on todays Registration Slip so
adequate paint supplies can be purchased.

St. Johns peanut butter
pyramid continues to
grow! Bring your donation
and add to the fun all in
support of the Norfolk
Food Pantry. In
September, all gathered
food (any canned goods and boxed or dry
items) along with the PB Pyramid will be
taken to the pantry for distribution. Keep
those donations coming!
God's Work Our Hands Sunday, September 10
Mark your calendar and participate! We need
EVERYONES PRAYERS and HELP . There
will be a huge variety of service project
activities. There is still time to order a yellow
shirt. Deadline to order shirts is Friday, Aug. 4.
Cost is $10/shirt prior to ordering. Order
forms/envelopes are available at the back of the
sanctuary. Fill out the form with your name and
T-shirt size and place in the envelope with your
$10. Drop in the offering plate or at the church
office.
NOTE: If there are individuals in the
congregation that need yard work or inside
small repairs/cleaning that can be completed in a
couple hours, please call the church and Mission
Life will contact them. These would be service
projects for September 10th.
We realize that plans do
change. However, we ask that
groups let the office know in
advance if meetings or events
are cancelled or postponed. In
that way, air conditioning or
heating systems can be shut
off and rooms may be
reserved for other activities if
needed. Thank you!

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL BEGINS

ITS TIME AGAIN FOR
5TH MONDAY DINE OUT
As July begins to wrap up, we are planning
our 5th Monday get together. This month
we will meet at the SandBar (Divots) for
lunch @ 11:30 AM on Monday, July 31.
Everyone is invited to join us for our dutch-
treat lunch and conversation. If you would
need a lift, please contact Carol Waggoner
@ 402-371-7642 and make arrangements to
meet at the church.
Imagine having to choose between a meal
or purchasing a notebook. Project Promise
School Kits are sent to places where even
the few required school supplies may be
more than a family can afford. Pencils and
paper can help write a positive future.
INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING IN EACH
SCHOOL KIT:
4 - 70-sheet notebooks of wide- or college-ruled
paper, approximately 8 x 10 ; no loose leaf
paper
1 - 30-centimeter ruler, or a ruler with centimeters
on one side and inches on the other
1 - pencil sharpener
1 - pair of blunt scissors (safety scissors with
embedded steel blades work well)
5 - unsharpened #2 pencils with erasers; secure
together with a rubber band
5 - black or blue ballpoint pens (no gel ink);
secure together with a rubber band
1 - box of 16 or 24 crayons
1 - 2 eraser
Please give new items only.
Please do not donate items with any religious
symbols, messages or your groups name.
Please do not donate any items decorated with a
U.S. flag, patriotic or military symbols, or
references to the armed forces, including
camouflage.
Do not add other items or leave out any of the
items listed.
Do not enclose the kit or any of its contents in
plastic bags.
Kits and/or miscellaneous supplies can be left in
the washtub in the west hallway. Also, feel free
to pick up a shopping list or take this one with
you while picking out school supplies to donate.
If you would like to donate individual items and
not an entire kit, these kits will be assembled
during Gods Work Our Hands Sunday.

 Dear ChristCare (& Congregation),
We are so very grateful for our
church family and the outpouring of
prayers and support. Guillain-Barre
is a disease that has taken
everything from me; it also has
tested my faith in God as well. It
has also brought me the highest joy.
From that first sip of water, to
eating, walking, and to talking to
Clare for the first time.
It has also humbled me. By all of
the cards, prayers, and visits and by
the money that was raised to help
Clare.
Clare & I are truly blessed with
everyones help and for that, we
thank you very much.
