Then, Mr. Amir divided us to teach four skills: 3 students teaching listening, 4 students to
teach speaking, 4 students teaching reading, and 4 students to teach writing.
Second meeting,
10th July 2017
At LP3
1. First speaker, Driasto Puguh Nugroho
The second meeting began by Driastos performance. He taught reading for Junior High
School student. He opened the peer teaching well. He used a good prompting, funny face, and
ask student to say animal name when he was checking the attendance.
Driasto used a good media in his teaching. His pronunciation was good although there still
a little mispronouncing. In closure, he did not forget to sum up or brush up the material on that
day.
Then, on that day, Mr. Amir reminded us to tell students about the goal. It should be
focused on our material. He also asked us to keep and share our knowledge. Mr. Amir gave a
good appreciation to Driasto.
Overall, that was great! Just a little nervous Driasto did, I think it was because he was the
first performer.
2. Second speaker, Dian Novitaningtyas
Dian Novi taught us the writing skill for junior high school student. She opened
the teaching by a greeting, continued to remembering the previous material and
mentioning the students learning objective. In her main teaching, her voice was so
slow, so I could not hear it clearly. There was still a little mispronouncing. Then, in the
closure, she forgot to sum up the material discussed.
After Dian performance, Mr. Amir gave us an advice to clean the whiteboard after
ending the lesson. It was a kind of tips to make student refresh their mind when they
move to another material.
Before ending this meeting, Mr. Amir explained us some points to consider:
1. We should make a clear learning objective and its assessment based on the
indicator
2. We as the teacher should know whether or not the students understand what
we said
3. Please speak slowly to junior high school students
