Chapter 1 Introduction 1

Chapter 1 Introduction

In this chapter, you will:

Understand the general structure of KingView
Understand the communication process between KingView and I/O devices
Understand the common steps to setting up a project file

Introduction

Kingview is universal industrial monitor and control software, it encapsulates control design,
scene operation and factory resource management. Different production systems, applications
and general information is brought together to optimize management All users, regardless of
network position, can obtain real-time information from anywhere within the system. Using
KingView to develop your industrial monitor and control project, not only increase user
production line ability but increase factory productivity and efficiency, enhances product quality
and reduce consumption of materials thereby also reducing cost. KingView can be used for
everything from the management and diagnosis of the malfunction of a single piece of equipment
to large scale centralized monitor and control management system.
KingView 6.5 software has three parts: Project Manager - ProjManager, Project Explorer
Touch Explorer, and the Running system TouchView.
Project Manager ProjManager is used to setup new projects and manage established ones.
Including the search, addition, backup or retrieval of established projects and the import or
export of data dictionaries.
Project Explorer TouchExplorer is the tool used for designing and developing a project, it
is the configuration tool for creating monitor and control pictures, devices, correlative tags,
animation links, scripts, and configuring the running system.
The running system TouchVew is the running interface for projects; it can obtain data
from the collection devices, display dynamic pictures according to the animated design of
TouchExplorer, allows both operator and control device operation alternately.

Kingview and I/O Devices

As a universal industrial monitor and control software, KingView can communicate with
most familiar PLCs, aptitude modules, aptitude instruments, transducers, data collection boards
and so on (such as Siemens PLC, Modicon PLC, Omron PLC, Salon PLC, Advantech module)
through routine communication interfaces (such as COM port, USB port, Ethernet, Bus).

Chapter 1 Introduction 2

KingView generally communicates with IO devices through the dynamic library, different
devices correspond to different elements within the dynamic library. The project developer does
not need to use any of the complicated codes form the dynamic library or communication
protocol device. To define IO devices simply follow the device-defining guide provided by
KingView. Kingview associates with I/O devices through defined tags, which are simple and
convenient to use.

KingView Opening Character

KingView supports localized and network data alternation through standard transmission
mechanisms such as OPC, DDE and other monitor and control software such as Intouch, Ifix,
Wincc.

How to Set Up an Application Project

How to set up a general project:

First step: Setting up a new project
Create a catalogue for the project to which you can save related files
Second step: Define the I/O device and add the project tags
Add the I/O device and tags needed for the project, including memory and I/O tags.
Third step: Create a picture and define the animation links
Create a monitor and control picture according to the project specifications, and enable the
static picture to produce animated effects in accordance with the actual scene. Fourth step:
Insert syntax
Use syntax to finish complicated control processes.
Fifth step: Configure the running system
Configure the systems data save function, network parameters, printer, running mode and
so on, this has to be done the system can be run.
Sixth step: Save and run
A simple project has been created. .

KingView Help

KingView help is divided into two parts, is the product help file and the I/O drivers help file,
can open them as follows:
1): Select start from the desktopall programKingview6.52Kingview file,
which includes the product help file, I/O drivers help file and function manual.
2): Select catalog from the help menu in TouchExplorer. This only includes advice for
