The nYlll-2M generates the values of the service parameters (flight date, flight number,
registration number) and transmits this information to the E>Cnlll-2-02. The parametric in-
formation collected and converted in the 5Cnlll-2-02 is transmitted through the binary serial
code channel (8SC reg.) to the 35H-2M for saving in the nonvolatile memory.
The audio information arrives through four channels (three channels from the radio com
munication equipment and one channel from the YM,l],-3 nondirectional microphone device)
directly to the 35H-2M, which converts and records the audio information in the nonvolatile
electronic memory.
The recording cycle lasts for 1 second. The Pnlll-2-02 item enables conversion and record
ing of the signals listed in Table 1 at least once every second.

The PnVl-2-02 item ensures change of the list and frequency of the recorded parameters
(recording cyclogram) from those given in Table 1 by changing the data in the 6CnV1-2-02
configuration memory. Change of the list and frequency of the recorded parameters is ef
fected by the PnVl-2-02 item developer by the user's request, including on board the aircraft
with the aid of the PPC, respective wire bundle for coupling to the aircraft connector de
signed for reading the information recorded in the 36H-2M unit and special software. In so
doing, correctness of the recording cyclogram is checked.
The 6CnV1-2-02, 36H-2M, nYV1-2M items perform continuous self-monitoring with the aid
of the built-in test facilities with shaping of the "BIST" signals indicating serviceability of the
respective unit according to the test results. The self-test signals are supplied from the
36H-2M and nYV1-2M to the 6CnV1-2-02 for shaping the "BIST-PnVl" integral signal. The
6CnV1-2-02 shapes two "BIST-PnVl" integral signals - one for delivery to the external cir
cuit (the signal level of +27 V), the other is transmitted to the nYV1-2M. In addition, the
nYV1-2M receives the 36H-2M and 6CnV1-2-02 units serviceability signals. The nYV1-2M
ensures indication of serviceability of the PnVl-2-02 item as a whole and of each of the
6CnV1-2-02, 36H-2M, nYV1-2M units with the aid of unit indicators.
In the PnVl-2-02 item, provision is made for shaping and delivering to the external circuit
separately the parametric information recording channel serviceability signal and the audio
information recording channel serviceability signal (provided optionally).
In the PnVl-2-02 item, provision is made for two self-test modes with the aid of the BIST:
-extended self-test initiated by depression of the TEST (KOHTPOnb) button on the
nYV1-2M panel and in the absence of the recording mode activation signal;
-continuous self-test for correctness of the data recording on the information carrier car
ried out continuously from the moment of item energizing.
The nYV1-2M also ensures display on the vacuum-fluorescent screen (hereinafter referred
to as the screen) of the parameter values in case of entry of the service parameters (flight
date, flight number, aircraft registration number), display of the values of the signals sup
plied from the aircraft transmitters during the calibration operations, activation of the
PnVl-2-02 item self-test during the preparation for flight, indication of the recording mode
activation.

MAINTENANCE MANUAL
In the Pnl,1-2-02 item, software of two types is used:
-programs specifying mutual interaction of the units;
-programs specifying interaction with the aircraft transmitters a d systems.
The Pnltl-2-02 item is provided with an additional output for connection of the operating re
corder with the use of the standard channel of exchange through the ARING 717 interface.
The Pnltl-2-02 item provides the possibility of connection of additional 6Cnlt1-2-02 unit for
extension of the recording cyclogram and additional 36H-2M unit for improving reliability of
storage of the recorded information in case of a flight accident.
In increase of the Pnltl-2-02 item components, the nYlt1-2M unit should be modified for
providing indication of the results of the additional unit BIST. Modification of the nYlt1 -2M unit
is optional.
The Pnltl-2-02 item conversion mode is activated on beginning of the power voltage supply.
The recording mode is switched on in the presence of on (any) of four activation signals:
-"Automatic activation 1" -+27-V signal presence (contact "6Cnlt1-X8:49");
-"Automatic activation 2" -+27-V signal absence (contact "6Cnlt1-X8:50");
-"Manual activation 1" -+27-V signal presence (contact "6Cnlt1-X8:48");
-"Manual activation 2" -with the RECORD (3Anlt1Cb) toggle switch on the nYlt1-2M panel
set to the ON (BKJl) position.
The Pnltl-2-02 item recording mode is deactivated in the absence of all four activation sig
nals.
The Pnltl-2-02 item is supplied with a DC power voltage of 18 to 31 V through two independ
ent inputs interconnected employing the OR function. The power voltage is supplied to the
6Cnlt1-2-02, wherefrom it is distributed among the 36H-2M and nYlt1-2M. The 6Cnlt1-2-02
protects the aircraft electrical system from short circuits inside the Pnltl-2-02 item with the aid
of two fuses, one for each power input separately, the fuse actuation rated current is 4 A.
The 6.3-V transmitters power channels ensure protection from short circuits in the transmitter
circuits with the aid of the current limitation circuits in the 6Cnlt1-2-02. The 27-V transmitters
power supply channel is protected from short circuits with the aid of the fuse; the fuse actua
tion rated current is 2 A
Reading of the recorded information is effected with the aid of the KC-AM portable reading
set through the object on-board connector. The reading set ensures reading of the infor
mation through the standard serial interface EIA RS 485 in the IBM AT compatible PPC
through the USB-port.
The KC-AM reading set includes:
-the USB/RS 485 converter;
-the GBPD wire bundle;
-the installation disc with the system software.
The length of the wire bundle running from the 36H-2M to the connector intended for cou
pling the KC-AM reading set on board the object should not exceed 8 m and the wiring
should employ a sheathed twisted pair. Processing of the parametric and audio information
recorded in the 36H-2M recorder is effected with the aid of the ground-based processing
device (GBPD).

Nov 29/11
Reading and processing of the information from the protected memory module exposed
external factors as a result of a flight accident is effected in compliance with the instructions
VIIOKB.467600.0141114, which discusses different reading variants with the 36H-2M structure
destroyed:
- saving of the protected memory module;
- saving of the memory boards in case of destruction of the memory module;
- saving of the flash-memory microcircuits in case of destruction of the protected memory
module and memory boards.

4 DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION OF nAM-6K

4.1 The nAM-6K subsea acoustic beacon is intended for marking the position of the 36H-2M
protected flight data and voice recorder got into the sea or fresh water after a flight acci
dent by location of the ultrasonic pulses emitted by the nAM-6K beacon.
4.2 With the PnVl-2-02 item operating, the nAM-6K subsea acoustic beacon is functioning in
the duty mode. As soon as the nAM-6K beacon gets into water environment, the "chas
sis-contactor" contacts of the power activation device are wetted thus rendering this cir
cuit conductive and the power source becomes connected to the pulse shaper and to the
capacity storage (Fig. 3).

MAINTENANCE MANUAL
The signal delivered from the pulse-modulated frequency generator activates capaci
ty storage, which ensures generation of the pulse of the strength the power
amplifier. The radio pulse is amplified by the power amplifier and affects piezoelectric
radiator, which radiates ultrasonic pulses into water environment.
The nAM-6K beacon generates the ultrasonic pulses having the following parameters:
-basic frequency (37.50.5) KHz;
-pulse duration -from 8 to 12 ms;
-pulse repetition period -from 0.8 to 1.2 s.
4.3 The mass of the nAM-6K beacon is not in excess of 0.25 kg; its overall dimensions are:
diameter -33 mm, length -102 mm.
4.4 Structurally, the nAM-6K beacon is made as a cylindrical titanium housing with two
threaded covers (Fig. 4). The bottom cover is designed for providing access to the bat
tery compartment, the top cover -for connection of the contactor to the electronic unit.
On the top, the housing is provided with a piezoelectric radiator and a pulse shaper elec
tronic unit. The covers are sealed by rubber rings over the housing diameter. The covers
are provided with recesses for a special wrench designed for nAM-6K assem
bly/disassembly.

The analog signal module scans the object transmitters and converts t he voltage (fre
q uency, resistance) received from them into a code. The module has 56 differential in
puts. Depending on the way of connection of the differential input, provision is made for
reception and conversion of the signals received from the transmitters of different types.
The event module ensures scanning of the object discrete signal (event) transmitters.
The module has 112 universal inputs from the transmitters of various types:
- signal absence - breakage or chassis fault; signal presence - voltage within a range
of 4 to 31 V;

- signal absence - break; signal presence - chassis fault.

The interface module ensures reception of information through ten serial exchange
channels. During reception of the coded information through the channel, the data word
authenticity is checked.
The digital values of analog and discrete signals, as well as the received data words are
transmitted from the analog signal modules, discrete command module and interface
module to the central processor module for further transmission to the 36H-2M recorder
through the binary serial code (BSC rec.) channel.
The power supply module ensures power supply to the object transmitters:
- potentiometric transmitters through three individual lines with a DC current of 0.25 A
with a voltage of (6.3000.025) V. The short circuit in any line does not affect operability
of other lines;
- transmitters and "dry" contacts with a DC voltage of 27 V with the current consumption not
exceeding 1 A
The secondary power supply module ensures supply of +5-V; +12-V; minus 12-V De
voltages to the 6Cnll1-2-02 modules. Used as voltage converters are pulsed integral
converters. The module is supplied from two DC emergency power supply busses with
a voltage of 18 to 31 V interconnected through a diode isolator (according to the "OR"
circuit).
