RESOLUTION 155-2017

BOROUGH OF EATONTOWN
COUNTY OF MONMOUTH, STATE OF NEW JERSEY

AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT FOR SUPPORTIVE LAW ENFORCEMENT MONITORING


BOROUGH OF EATONTOWN AND CONGREGATION SHAARE TEFILAH BENE MOSHE

Whereas, the Borough of Eatontown (the Borough), and Congregation Shaare Tefilah Bene Moshe, a
religious establishment, located at 20 Whalepond Road, Eatonton, New Jersey (hereinafter, the Congregation)
are desirous of entering into an agreement in order to provide supportive monitoring and enforcement on and
around the Congregations property; and

Whereas, the Eatontown Police Department (the Department) is the organization charged with
enforcing the law within the jurisdiction of the Borough; and

Whereas, the Borough and the Department are cognizant of a recent upward trend in the number of
anti-Semitic crimes against persons and property; and

Whereas, the Borough intends to enter into this Agreement to provide supportive monitoring and
enforcement on and around the Congregations property; and

Whereas, the Borough recognizes that it can provide such services at a minimal cost to the taxpayers of
the Borough while ensuring enforcement of the peace and public welfare for all citizens.

Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved that the Governing Body of the Borough of Eatontown do hereby
authorize the Mayor to execute said Agreement in the form attached hereto as Appendix A, with the Borough
of Eatontown and Congregation Shaare Tefilah Bene Moshe for the supportive monitoring and enforcement on
and around the Congregations property, as per the terms outline therein.
