Come, let us believers laud the Divine
Gerasimos Newly Revealed to us as a
Champion of the Orthodox: a God-
Dormition of Our Ever Nlessed
mantled Angel in the flesh and
Wonderworker; for worthily he Lady Theotokos
received from God the never-ending
Gift of Healing, to Heal the sick and
to Restore to health the afflicted.
Wherefore he overflows with Healing
for those who honour him.

During the Dormition Lent the Small

Paraklesis and the Great Paraklesis
is chanted on alternate days during
the week, except on Saturday

This is a Petition to the Ever Blessed

Theotokos, which is sung during every
type of catastrophe or affliction.
It was composed by Theostriktos the Monk
or, according to some, Theophanios

The Service of the Small Paraklesis is

chanted in times of distress and sorrow
of soul and during the first fourteen
days of August - during the Fast before
the Dormition of the Theotokos on 15
August.
