Every project big or small is successful largely due to the effort of a number of
wonderful people who have always given their valuable advice or lent a helping

I, Aadil Kakar, the student of Symbiosis Centre For Management Studies

Mitter Fasteners are pioneer manufacturer and supplier of Nuts, Bolts, Washers,
Sheet Metals from last 3 decades. Mitter Fasteners offer comprehensive
manufacturing services for varied business houses.
Founded by Mr. Devinder Sahani and Mr. Mukesh Sahani in 1982, Mitter
Fasteners was based upon the commitment to be Agents of Change in
revolutionary manufacturing and business practices. This principle was a
cornerstone of the new company and, over time, drove us to improve customer
support by aggressively expanding capabilities and service offerings.
Mitter Fasteners have an in-house production facility for Zn Plating (Cr3+), Heat
Treatment and a State of the Art Metallurgical Lab. They proudly supply to all major
OEMs in India and major buyers in Europe.

QUALITY
We are highly concerned about the quality we deliver. Each and every product that
gets manufactured at any of our 4 manufacturing locations adheres to the expected
quality standards. All 4 Manufacturing Facilities are ISO / TS 16949 : 2009
Certified.

Mitter Fasteners started with the vision to be an Agent of Change in the
manufacturing industry and wish to continue be the same in years to come. As the
industry keeps evolving, Mitter Fasterners too wish to keep evolving in our quality
and delivery standards, adding more and more valuable customers to our clientele.
They intend to become international leaders in the manufacturing and supply
of various range of high quality Precision Engineering Components, Precision
Fasteners & Sheet Metal Components in coming years.
Our mission is to serve customers all around the globe and keep meeting up to their
raising standards.

FOUNDERS
Founded by Mr. Devinder Sahani and Mr. Mukesh Sahani in the year of 1982, Mitter
Fasteners have established a renowned position in the manufacturing and supply
industry by delivering high quality products at competitive prices.
They understand that its the driving force within the founders that brings success in
any company. Under the leadership of Mr. Devinder Sahani and Mr. Mukesh Sahani,
the company has been able to gain a larger market share. Both of them along with a
team of more than 550 people have been continuously working on the quality
standards over years and have been able to produce and sell high standard products
at competitive prices. They share a strong relation with our clients which gives them
confidence in spreading our name within the industry helping us to increase our list
of esteemed patrons.
They hope to continue delivering quality just the way we have been doing since
quite long now.

PRODUCTS

Production of Nuts and Bolts takes places by the process of forging. Mitter Fasteners
have been able to successfully develop the latest in-house production of plan for
Cold Forging which has the Capacity to forge nuts till M24 size and where the
Tapping process happens from Taiwan.

Mitter Fasteners produces a variety of components from Sheet Metal like Washers,
Clamps, Clips, Cross Members and a variety of Special Components as per
Customer Specifications. We have a variety of Press Machines right from 5 Tonnes
to 500 Tonnes. The strength of the Press Shop comes from a very strong backing
from the In-House Tool Rooms in all the 4 Manufacturing Facilities. Machinery like
Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Wire Cut, Vertical
Milling Centre (VMC) and a dedicated work force. All tool designing is done In-
House on Designing Software like AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

ORGANISATION STRUCTURE

At Mitter Fasteners they follows absolute dedicated approach. The organization of
its manufacturing operations is based on product divisionalisation in to group of
products in which are similar in technology or manufacturing process. Each of these
group, are led by absolute manager. A central manager leads the corporate function.
Some of these functions in turn are reported to the managing director.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This is a project report based on the internship experience gathered at Mitter
Fasteners. This report is based on the secondary data and information gathered
while working in the company. The objective of this project report is to understand
the working of Mitter Fasteners and its market position.
The culture at Mitter Fasteners is quite diverse and more of a free working, as they
provide meals to their employees, recreation facilities and flexibility in working.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

The type of research methodology used is purely secondary source as my task was to
work for the company in its operations. So, there was no research involved at first
place. . Still while working at Mitter Fasteners, I used to cross check the information
collected by the sales team with the merchants.

Scope

The scope of working on this internship project was to understand the working of the
company as well as to dwell in its environment. The client base was national, as we
used to supply our products all over India. Also, to understand diversity in an
organization and Mitter Fasteners has majority of youth as its employees.

Limitations

The major limitation would be time spent at the organization as in mere a 1 month
time its quite difficult to understand a company and its workings. Also, there are
instances of language shift as and when interacted with customers on the national
level.

INTERN PROFILE AT MITTER FASTENERS

The ideal candidate plays nicely with others and has a proven track record of success
leading a team of graphic artists, an understanding of screen-print and with
merchandising. Specific responsibilities include managing daily operations including

providing supervision to employees as well as managing vendors, departmental
communications, stylistic direction and managing associated budgets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develops and maintains a clearly defined strategy in support of companys


mission, vision and objectives.

Works closely with key individuals and teams to integrate strategic opportunities
into the prioritized workflow. Ensure cross-organizational support and extraordinary
results for customers and partners.

Responsible for day-to-day operations including managing employees, vendors,


communications, stylistic direction and associated budgets. This position will also
provide support to customer service, Sunrise marketing, and product development.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations


policies and applicable laws.

OBSERVATIONS AND FINDINGS

achieve their goal. It includes

leading service provider.

The research and development team of Mitter Fasteners is engrossed in developing


new product for the international markets. This has helped them to gain valuable
insight that prompt the group to search alternative ways for manufacturing better
products in a cost effective manner.

Mitter Fasteners is major manufacturer of Nut, Bolts, Washers etc in North India and
it has received the best ISI mark for quality.

International Standard that is being followed as far as the quality of the


products is concerned.
Has well trained employees to operate the machines.
Provides excellent services to its employees like canteen, medical facilities,
transportation etc.

Premises are huge and designed in such a way that the raw materials can
easily transferred from one department to another.
Safety is given main preference.
Discipline is being followed.
Pollution level is low.
Quality of the products is assured by doing nine different quality tests.
Everyday feedbacks are taken.
Excellent training and development system.
Employee performance appraisal system.
No discrimination for race, religion, decision making and actions.

Suggestions:
Problems can be detected early and treated to prevent deterioration welfare
and cost reduction.
Annual medical checkup for all workmen and employees. A small amount can
be deducted from the salary one time.
Cleanliness and orderliness has to be further improved.
Improve security measures by using electronic devices at all gates.

CONCLUSION

The study conducted at Mitter Fasteners which is the pioneer and market leader in
manufacturing of nuts, bolts, washers etc in North India, helped in getting a wider
outlook about the business environment and managing an organization. Organization
has many production centers all over North India and Taiwan, with operation all over
the world.

It was a general study regarding all functions and aspects of Mitter Fasteners. The
company has several functional departments through which it is operating. It is

found that company has a good working environment and cordial relationship is
maintained between all departments for the smooth functioning and achievement of
the organization goal of maintain the companys brand image among the customers.
SWOT analysis is also done to analyze the Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and
Threats of the organization.

In conclusion I can say that this internship report is really essential for every student
of business studies to get idea about textile industry. By completing this report I
have got overall idea of manufacturing sector and these may be helpful to know
about the technical and management knowledge of garments industry also these
sector related organizations.

Doing my summer internship at Mitter Fasterners was really a good experience for
me because every person of there so much helpful and give me the proper methods
of practical learning.
