ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW
Strong growth, clear direction and strategic investments in programs, people and infrastruc-
ture have been the hallmark of President Wagners leadership during the past eight years. Un-
der Dr. Wagners leadership, Dunwoody has embraced a transformative strategic plan and built
the positive momentum now carrying the College forward into its second century of education.

Guided by this strategic plan, Dunwoody is investing in several key initiatives that impact
the industries, communities and students it serves:
A School of Engineering that offers four-year degrees in mechanical, software and
electrical engineering, while still utilizing Dunwoodys trademark hands-on, proj-
ect-based approach to learning.
Continued and sustained enrollment growth through the focused expansion of
Dunwoodys geographical reach, as well as initiatives and scholarship programs
aimed at increasing the number of women and students of color in technical and
STEM-related program areas.
A more comprehensive and robust student affairs program to better meet the
needs of the changing student body.
To support the strategic plan, Dunwoody launched a $50 million comprehensive cam-
paign, and has already received overwhelming support.

The planned retirement of the current Vice President of Institutional Advancement pro-
vides an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to join this
robust and growing private, not-for-profit college that is uniquely positioned to serve
the Twin Cities and the region.

ABOUT DR. WAGNER: In 2009, Dunwoody College of Technology named Dr. Rich Wag-
ner as its ninth president. President Wagner originally joined Dunwoody in 1996 as an

moted to Dean of Learning in 2001. He served as Vice President of Academic Affairs

Minneapolis
Dunwoodys campus is on 15 acres located just southwest of Minne-
apolis downtown district and situated along the edge of the historic
and beautiful Lowry Hill neighborhood, one of the oldest and most
established neighborhoods in the city. The colleges nearest neighbor is
the newly renovated Walker Art Centers Sculpture Garden, one of the
crown jewels of the Minneapolis park system.

Dunwoodys downtown location means easy access to all that the city of Minneapolis has to offer.
Often cited as one of the best cities to live, Minneapolis residents enjoy an active outdoor life-
style that includes miles of bike trails and hiking paths in the nearby Lake of the Isles Park locat-
ed just to the south of campus. This park and the others in the city were rated as the best park
system in the nation by The Trust for Public Land.

Incorporated as a city in 1867, Minneapolis is named for the Dakota word Minne (meaning of
the waters) and the Greek word polis (meaning city); fitting for a town that contains 22 lakes.
Father Louis Hennepin was the first non-native settler to establish a community at St. Anthony
Falls in 1680. Powered by those falls, Minneapolis was crowned the milling capital of the world
by the early 1870s.

Today, Minneapolis and St. Paul, with over 3 million people, make up the 14th largest metropol-
itan area in the country. Downtown Minneapolis is energetic, convenient, and picturesque with
a postcard-pretty skyline, a comfortable feel, a vivacious atmosphere, and the Mississippi River
winding through it. The downtown area is home to nearly 40,000 residents, ensuring the city is
constantly abuzz.

Minneapolis is also renowned for its cultural and recreational opportunities and beautiful natural
surroundings. Numerous arts venues provide a vast array of entertainment offerings. For exam-
ple, Minneapolis ranks only behind New York for theater seats per capita with the Guthrie Theater
leading the way. The city is home to many nationally known art museums and galleries including
the Walker Art Center, the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, and the University of Minnesotas Weis-
man Art Museum designed by award-winning architect Frank Gehry. In professional sports, Min-
neapolis is hosts the Minnesota Twins baseball team with Target Field located just a mile from the
Dunwoody campus. Proudly, in February 2018, the city (home to the Minnesota Vikings football
team) will host the National Football Leagues Super Bowl LII.
