Be respectful to the teacher and classmates and of school and personal property.
Be prepared with supplies and assignments each day.
Be on time, in your seat and ready to start when the bell rings.
Plan to be successful in this class!
Supplies:
3-Ring Binder
Composition Notebook
Pencils
Notebook Paper
Graph Paper
6- or 12- inch ruler
Graphing Calculator Optional
Grading:
Assessments
o Tests (100 points each) - Students should expect three or four tests each grading period
o Quizzes (10 30 points each) - Quizzes will be given throughout each chapter. Quizzes will
include short writing assignments to explain a process or solution, and small sets of problems from
a specific topic.
Homework/Classwork (5 points each) - Homework is given almost daily. These assignments are used to
assessing understanding and mastery of skills and are usually discussed in the next class meeting.
Homework/Classwork will include textbook assignments, handouts, and reading assignments.
Completed assignments are expected on time, either the next class meeting or the due date given.
Late work will receive a grade no more than 80% of the earned score for correctness and completion.
All late work must be submitted no later than two days following testing of a unit/chapter.
Grades are calculated using total points earned out of the total points possible.
Make-up Work:
Assignments will be posted on the website. Students can check the While You Were Out binder for
handouts missed during absences.
Remediation/Enrichment:
Opportunities for students to receive help when needed and to work on math contest problems for enrichment
are available during fifth period each day. This is referred to as Tiger Time. Students should check the posted
schedule outside the classroom door for availability as this varies during the week.
It is my plan to be at school by 7:30 each morning and stay until at least 4:00 each afternoon. Students are
welcome to come to my classroom before and after school if extra help is needed. Please be mindful that
occasionally I may need to be out of the room at those times with other responsibilities. We can also schedule
a time to work before or after school if needed.

Specific dates for testing will be posted on my website once they are announced.
The math section is divided into three subtests, one being non-calculator. Acceptable calculators for the
subtests that allow them can be seen at a link on my website under the supplies tab where calculator
information is located.
This will be a great school year! Please feel free to call or email me with any questions or concerns.
