TESTS
A test is a procedure intended to establish the quality, performance, or reliability of something,
especially before it is taken into widespread use.

Pre Testing Conducted before the intended training program to establish level of fitness or
skill.

Progress Testing Conducted during the training program to assess progress.

Post Testing Conducted at the conclusion of a training program to establish level of


improvement.

STEP 1 Identify one tennis SKILL you would like to improve to help enhance your game.

STEP 2 - Create a TEST that can be used to evaluate the your selected skill.

STEP 3 Using your test, conduct PRE-TESTS to gauge your skill level.

STEP 4 Create a TRAINING program to assist in the improvement of your skill.

STEP 5 At the conclusion of your training program, conduct POST-TESTS to assess how
successful (or not) your training program has been.

STEP 2 CREATING A TEST
Create a TEST that can be used to evaluate your selected skill.

WHAT?
Explain your test in detail write it as though someone else will be conducting it.
List any resources you may need to complete the test.

EXPLAIN
In full sentences, explain how your test covers each of the 4 critical components of a test.
Is your test REPEATABLE?
Is your test RELIABLE?
Is your test MEASURABLE?
Is your test PRACTICAL?
STEP 3 PRE-TESTING
Using your test, conduct PRE-TESTS to gauge your skill level.

After each attempt, COMMENT on how your attempt went.

STEP 4 TRAINING PROGRAM

Try and create tasks that require a small amount of people or can be completed solo.

WARM-UP
Create or research a warm-up that targets your selected skill.
Explain your warm-up in detail write it as though someone else will be conducting it.

DRILLS
Create or research 3 drills that target your selected skill.
Explain your drills in detail write it as though someone else will be conducting it.

EXPLANATION
In full sentences, explain your training program considering the following.

STEP 5 - POST TESTING
At the conclusion of your training program, conduct POST-TESTS to assess how successful (or not) your training
