METHOD STATEMENT
Test and Commissioning Procedure for
Battery Charger
1 Introduction
This Method Statement describes the method and scope of operations for the testing
and commissioning of battery chargers.
These two methods are used for testing and commissioning of battery chargers:
1.1 Visual Inspection
1.2 Electrical Tests and Checks
2.1 Incoming and outgoing breakers and MCBs must be calculated and adjusted
according the specification. See ref. 7.3, calculations of Breakers and MCBs for
Battery charger.
2.2 Interlocks must be prepared according to the requirements of interlocking systems
for battery chargers. See ref. 7.5, interlocking scheme
3 Method Statement
3.1 Visual inspection of the cubicle. Confirm the technical and main dates of the
cubicle, the completeness of the panel erection, the labelling and locking facilities,
that the cubicle parts are clean and undamaged. The cabling and wiring, the
connection-terminals with the bridges and links must be according to the drawings.
See ref. 7.2. Complete erection is made under direct supervision by manufacturer.
Batteries are unloaded with care and stored in a safe place. The battery stands are
erected first then batteries are assembled. Terminal connections were made and
tightness checked. Charging and discharging cycle operations were made with SEC-
SOA witness and the readings were recorded. The charger wirings according to
approved drawings will be checked. Charger load test/operation tests are conducted
as per approved site test procedures.
3.1.1 Necessary tools and/or test equipment:
Hand tools. See ref. 5
3.1.2 Possible causes of damages during the inspection are:
Damaging of terminals during tidiness test.
3.1.3 Possible hazards during the inspection:
