Project on Graphite Recovery and Recycling in the industry

Abstract:
Graphite is a crystalline allotrope of carbon, a native element mineral
which is been used as lubricating materials in the form of powder. The graphite
lubricant is used either in the form of powder or in the form of mixed liquid.
Especially in the forging industries the above said forms of graphite is used to
avoid the fusion of ram with the forging material. At present scenario the used
graphite cannot be recovered and recycled in proper way. It leads to unwanted
socio economic issues. In this project an approach will be casted to recover and
recycle the graphite from the industries and proper utilization techniques will be
provided.

Description:
In this project the identified problems such as recovery and recycling of
used graphite will be addressed with appropriate solutions. Graphite in the form
of powder or as a mixed liquid is widely used as lubricating material in the
industries. As of now, the used graphite in the industry cannot be recovered
without impurities and it cannot be recycled for further usage or for further re
sale. To overcome these, a new approach will be implemented to recover the
graphite without impurities or it will be processed for removal of impurities once
collected. The recovered graphite will be processed for re use in the same industry
or it will be treated and made available for re sale to other industries.

Power from Waste Oil (Lubricating Mineral Oils)

Abstract:
The lubricating mineral oils consist of 90% petroleum fractions and 10%
additives. These oils are used for lubricating various machine components and
also acts as coolant during the machining process. Once the oil is used for above
said purpose it becomes contaminant and non-usable. So in our project we collect
the used lubricating mineral oil from the machine element and process the same
to produce power using CI engine.

Description:
Usually the lubricating oils are having high viscosity and density which
makes it suitable as lubricating element. In this project, the used lubricating oils
are collected from the machine elements and will be processed for converting into
fuel. It consists of 90% petroleum fractions, so it can be converted into fuel by
fractional distillation. In which the lubricating oil will be elevated to higher
temperature to collect HC (Hydro Carbon) fractions using Solar energy. The
produced HC fractions will be used in normal CI engine or in a modified CI
engine for producing electric power.
