6) Problems of reliability

Problem of reliability always occurs in developing any system. The system should
produce correct total for customers.
For eg.
If a customer purchases vegetables then the price of that vegetables should be
correct and total amount at the time of checkout should be correct.

7) Problems of validity

Problem of validation should always be kept in mind. Different validation should

be made to avoid errors in system.
For Eg.
While purchasing any vegetable customers should not be allowed to enter large
amount of quantity and quantity entered should be integer.

8) Problem Of Accuracy

Problem of accuracy defines how accurate the system is? System should be
accurate in calculating the result.
For Eg.
Total Calculation while checking out should be accurate. There should not wrong
calculations.

9) Problem of Economy
The Developed system should be economical for the users. The cost of the system
should be affordable.
The technologies or other technical software used in developing the system should
be cheap.
For Eg.
Existing System
Let us consider a shopkeeper or a grocer who sell vegetables
Cost of setting up shop : Rs. 10,00,000
Cost of daily worker : Rs. 350/day

(one time investment)
Wages for worker : Rs 350/day
Setting up vegetables
warehouse :Rs 5-10 Lac
Monthly rent :0
Software : Freeware

10) Problem of capacity

The system capacity should be good enough to meet users requirement.

For Eg.
Too many users purchasing or making order then system should withstand these
issues.

11) Problem of Throughput

Throughput is rate of production the rate at which something can be processed.

The system should process very fast so there is no wastage of time of customers.
For Eg. Too many customers requesting order must be processed fastly it should
not take much time.
12) Comparison of existing System with proposed system

Current system
More manual work is required. There is more time consumption. There is quality
issues. There is storage issues for storing vegetables.
Proposed System
Proposed system will allow customers to purchase online so that there will be less
time consumption. There will be no issue related to quality and stock
maintenance.

13) Advantages of Problem Identification in SDLC

Problem identification is the first phase of SDLC. It defines many problem faced
by people. It defines why there is need to develop any system.
Problem identification allows to decide the goal and boundary of any system. It
also helps whether the existing system is good enough for people or need any
improvement.
6th Semester Project
Alumni association system
1) Problem Identification

Today work is done manually that is too much hectic work in this technical era.
Student of college are not able to contact their seniors. They have to contact

An alumni association system has to be developed to solve these problem. All

alumni will register to this system and update their information. Other students
and alumni will get information from the system.

5) Study of the Internal and External Environment

Internal Environment
As this system is complex so that many staff and workers will be required.
Administrator will accept or reject the registration of different alumni.
Administrator will validate the information updated by alumni.
External Environment
External Environment includes all alumni who will register to this system.
This also includes students and different faculty who will use the system to
get the information about alumni.
6) Problems of reliability

Problem of reliability always occurs in developing any system. The system should
give correct details to users.
For eg. If any user is searching any alumni then system should give detail
information for alumni it should not give information about other alumni.

7) Problems of validity

Problem of validation should always be kept in mind. Different validation should

be made to avoid errors in system.
For Eg. While searching any alumni user should not be allowed enter other
characters.

8) Problem Of Accuracy

Problem of accuracy defines how accurate the system is? System should be
accurate in calculating the result.
For Eg. System should be accurate in showing the result.

9) Problem of Economy

The Developed system should be economical for the users. The cost of the system
should be affordable. The technologies or other technical software used in
developing the system should be cheap.
For Eg.
For Existing System
Wages for Clerk : Rs 25.000
Other Cost : Rs 2000

For Proposed System

System Developing : Free
Software : Free
