classwork, outlines, and essays.

Requirements for Essays:

In addition to the specific prompt requirements, here are the following paper requirements: a
header, double-spaced, 12 pt. font, Times New Roman, 1 margins, and MLA citation.

Students are responsible for printing their essays at the school library or at home. Please print
and staple essays before coming to class otherwise, it is considered late. If a student is unable
to type his/her essay, he/she can neatly write the essay. All requirements still apply.

Late Work Policy:

Students have a four-day window of time to turn in a late assignment in which they will forfeit
10% of the assignments grade. If an assignment is more than four days late, students will forfeit
30% of the assignments grade.

(Ex. If a 100-point assignment is due on Monday and a student hands in the assignment late, the
student can only earn a maximum of 90 points on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Any day after the four-day window, the student can only earn a maximum of 70 points.)

When students return late work, they are required to paperclip a late work form to the
assignment. Late work should be placed in my hands not on my desk.

Absence/Make-Up Work:

When a student returns to school, after being absent, it is the students responsibility to contact
me and request the work that he/she missed. According to school policy, students are allowed to
make up work at a length equal to the number of school days absent plus one extra day, if the
absence is excused.

Essays will be announced in advance. If a student was absent, but he/she returns on the day of
the major assessment, the student is responsible for taking/turning in the assignment granted
the student received the necessary information.

Additional Classroom Expectations:

If a student needs to leave the classroom, he/she will sign out in the classroom notebook,
sign out in his/her personal agenda, and take the classroom pass. Please exit/enter without
creating a distraction.
Cell phones are not allowed in the classroom. All additional school rules apply.
