Father God,
Thank you for loving me and taking care of me. Bless my church, Pastor Ron and his
family. Bless my teachers for teaching me Your Word. I believe your love is flowing
through me to other people. Help me to obey my parents so things will go well with
me and I will live a long life on the earth. I will tell how great You are and how much I

We must learn to follow the instructions of Gods Word even when it
seems unusual.
Proverbs 3:5, Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not to
your own understanding.
Even when Gods plan means we must take unusual steps of obedience,
there is always wisdom and sound thinking behind His commandments.
The plan God gave Joshua for defeating the armies of Jericho was very
unusual. It is a great example of the difference between the way man
thinks and the way our great God thinks. The Bible says that Gods ways
are higher than our ways. God knows all that has happened in the past,
all that will happen in the future, and sees things that we cant see.
Wise people know this and put complete trust in Gods plans. Joshua
was a wise man which is why God chose him as the leader of the
Israelites. God had a plan for the Israelites to defeat the city of Jericho.
He told Joshua to have the Israelites march around the city for seven
days. It may have seemed silly, but this strange military plan was a test of
the Israelites willingness to obey Gods orders. After 7 days of marching
the walls of Jericho fell flat and Gods people took the city for their own.
When we take steps of obedience God honors them with confirming
signs. Joshua trusted God because he knew that God sees things that
we cant see. This is a great story reminding us of the great plan of Gods
wisdom and the sometimes unusual direction He may choose to show
us His ways. If we are going to trust God, we must learn to listen to and
obey His Word.
