I would like to express my interest in the Head of Mission position as I strongly believe that my
competencies, experience and skills are adapted to the position and Secour Islamique Frances
project. To collaborate with an organization dedicated to alleavite the poverty and the suffering of
the most deprived populations would be an honor for me and a great opportunity to keep working
on a protection framework in the MENA region.
Son of exiled Uruguayans, I am a proactive, analytical and flexible lawyer and political scientist,
really passionate about Public International Law, specialized in international migrations and global
mobility (I completed my studies in 2009 with a postgraduate on International Migrations and
Immigration Laws at the European University of Madrid).
Since 2008, I worked conducting legal analysis on labor, study and family mobility schemes in
different jurisdictions for multicultural stakeholders. I worked 8 years as an immigration legal
advisor for PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), both in Spain and Mexico. In addition, I provided pro
bono services (mainly regularization and family reunifications processes) to migrants unable to pay
for a lawyer.
In 2016 I moved to Jordan and I've been working as a consultant for the UNHCR MENA Protection
Service on refugees complementary pathways of admission. Ive focused my work on the Syrian
refugees right to work and livelihoods in the host countries in the MENA region and Turkey and
investigating about possible labour mobility opportunities for them in third countries.
My 8 years experience in one of the largest legal services firms in the world prove my client
orientation; negotiating, planning and organizing skills; the ability to work independently and the
ability to submit substantial analytical legal work while dealing with challenging situations and
deadlines.
I have project management experience as during my almost three years assignment in Mexico I
have been leading the team of legal and paralegal immigration advisors (being also the main hub of
advice for the PwC Immgration Network for the LATAM area). I would like to highlight my
contribution to the reorganization of the Immigration Services area and the training of the new staff
members. Furthermore, I have strong communication skills (both spoken and written in Spanish
and English) as Ive been advising employers, migrant workers and their family dependents
regarding immigration processes since from 2008 to 2016. In addition, I have also contributed to
legal publications on Corporate Migration (Getting the Deal Through, Mexico Chapter both in
2015 and 2016).
Finally, I would like to mention that I am actually holding valid residence status in Jordan and
driving license. I am available to travel through all the region.
