ASSESSMENT 01
As per the new regulations by the UDA and the Mega polis Development, Malabe is been termed as
the Science & Technology City Project.

Therefore below mentioned newly filled land is acquired by ICBT to build the Green Campus in the
premises. The new development is on the Inception stage and the Schematic design of the project is
being prepared.

The new development will be constructed throughout the 4 acres of premises as mentioned below in
the Schematic Design and will be consisting of following facilities.

Pentagon shaped four storied Head office complex with administration departments, Lecture
cabins, cafeteria, Library and an Auditorium.
Two numbers of six storied Lecture halls
Recreational area in the ground floor of the Lecture Halls
Two numbers of six storied Accommodation complex
Automobile workshop
Swimming pool
Playground
Car park area
The garden space

The ABC Consultancies are been selected as the Consultant team of the project. And you are one of
the major advisors on the same project. As an advisor of a team of consultants prepare a report on
following tasks to be submitted to the Board of Directors of the ICBT Campus.

Task 01

Analyze principles of spatial planning to achieve basic functional and service requirements of the
above Pentagon shaped Head office and prepare a report with reasoning on why these systems are
implemented.

Task 02

Apply various legal provisions for internal spatial planning and design development requirements of
local authorities & regulatory bodies for the aforesaid Pentagon Shaped Head office complex

Task 03

Evaluate sustainability design principles and its applications on the proposed type of buildings in the
selected land to achieve environmentally friendly and low energy design according to national/
international standards?

Note: Students shall adhere to GBCSL or LEED green ratings to prepare the report.

Task 04

Assess various methods and techniques used for external works of the proposed building &
landscaping work suitable for the future development of selected Land?

Note: Students are advised to make clear assumptions as necessary and mention them clearly within
the report.

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
The assessment should be prepared in an Analytical Report format and the preparation of
the report requires the student to undertake a process of investigative nature and present in a
report of 3000 words (10% +/-). Autonomy of this process shall be reflected by the structured
use of referencing using Harvard Referencing.
