Objectives

To specialize in a chosen field or area of study


through a project that applies one's knowledge, skills and
research capability
To subdivide the project into simpler tasks that can
be set as deliverables or milestones
To formulate solutions to problems identified within
project development
To properly document every milestone and problems
encountered
To present project for panels examination

Requirements

Progress reports

Halfway-point presentation

Final presentation

Short paper (IEEE format)

Bound documentation (at least 1) with CDs (at least


2)

Progress report

The progress report document should be the latest


version of the project documentation

Natural starting point would be the project proposal

- Summarizes all the changes made in the document using the
following format:

experiment and how they were
resolved

- Following the summary of changes, provide a short statement
answering the following: Are you on time with the schedule of
your project?
If no, how many weeks are you delayed?

What are your plans to keep up with your schedule?

- At the end of the cover page(s), include a statement that
signifies that the project documentation was approved by your
project adviser/s.

- I/We certify on my/our honor that this document had been


duly approved by my/our project adviser/s and all information
herewith are true and correct to the best of my/our knowledge.
I/We understand that any falsification of information will be
subject to the appropriate penalties, which may include an
automatic failure of EE/CoE/ECE 198.

Halfway-point presentation

Assessment of the students progress shall be done


midway through the semester

Requirements
- Latest version of project documentation
- Presentation and demo to the panel (optional)
- Submission of all progress reports (2 in total)

Halfway-point progress

Scenarios
1. The adviser (or advisers) decides that the student passed and
no revision on his or her proposal is needed

2. The adviser (or advisers) decides that the student passed but
there is a revision in the proposal

3. The adviser (or advisers) decides that the student did not
meet all the requirements in the proposal

Halfway-point progress

If required by any member of the panel, the student/s


must do an oral presentation and demo of their
progress

Passing the halfway-point evaluation does not guarantee


a passing grade in the final evaluation

Any appeals to the panels decision must be coursed


through the handlers

Final presentation

Assessment of the students progress shall be done


at the end of the semester

Requirements
- Latest version of project documentation
- Presentation and demo to the panel
- Submission of all progress reports (4 in total)

Those who have not submitted, or submitted late, any of


the reports will need to write a letter to the EEEI
Director requesting that they be allowed to present
(halfway or final).
