3.0 HEAT SHRINKABLE SLEEVE GENERAL

CHARACTERISTIC:
The heat shrinkable sleeve consist of an adhesive coated wraparound
sleeve and a curable modified solvent free epoxy (two-components)
primer . The material used for the backing layer of the wraparound
sleeve shall be made of high density cross linked polyethylene and
containing visual temperature indicator to demonstrate desire application
temperature.
The epoxy primer is applied to the pre-cleaned steel surface , the adhesive
coated sleeve is then wrapped around the joint , a closure is then installed
forming a tube and heat as per manufacturer's recommendation is
accomplished in order to shrink the sleeve tightly on to primed steel
surface.

3
IGS-MS-TP-014(0):2003,PART 3

The sleeve shall be highly adhesive to the pipe surface and to the
polyethylene coating of piping.
